i would not invest money in beast industries at this point. i think he’ll manage to endure and eventually ipo, but his brand positioning is “cheap and tacky shit for twelve year old boys.” there’s a market there for sure, but not one that supports a $5B valuation now, let alone a $100B future

because he sees videos as deliverables and doesn’t understand the concept of artistic direction

imo it’s all of the above plus his core demo (pre- to early adolescent boys) pivoting away from youtube and toward streamers like ishowspeed, which dan also talks about in the video

obviously these are cumulative views so older videos enjoy an advantage, and the tremendous outlier that is $456,000 squid game in real life skews things a bit too. but youtube is the top of the funnel for mrbeast and he’s not capturing his demographic as reliably as in the past

lots of good stuff in the new @foldablehuman.bsky.social video about jimmy beast; this was the moment i found most compelling. we noticed this downward trend when we talked about mrbeast’s 2026 output on @killthecomputer.com but it’s startling to see it visualized this starkly
