When I got off at SFO the gate was going to be used for a flight leaving for Paris. Yes I looked and yes there was space and yes I was tempted even though I didn’t have a passport.
Took the SFO flight, sat on the tarmac for 75 mins, got off the plane, childhood bff picked me up, went out to lunch, did a group video call with the gang and am now about to takeoff to Honolulu now.
Haha I lied. I actually decided to get on a flight to SFO where there are several options I will for sure get on later today. All the SFO options were packed today and this one, when I checked, had 8 slots, all taken. I listed anyway and even though at one point it said I was No. 10, still got on!
Now I am going to try to get on the direct flight to Honolulu leaving at 9:30 CT.
There are 16 stand-by seats…and I am no. 18. I do have backups but it can be a little tricky going from hub to hub! We’ll see!
I got on a 6:35am flight to ORD…and the flight was so full I got a whole row to myself so I promptly lay down and slept the full flight.

I have enrolled friend status MANY thanks to a friend who has been a pilot for United for several years.
Philly is not a United hub (Newark is) so my first goal was to get to one.
