One thing that's easy to miss about the just-released House of Hikmah is that the Islamic Scholars are known with the same awe and reverence as superheroes in Western culture. It'd be hard to grow up without learning of the exploits of some of these characters.

It does leave a glaring hole - I do really wish Western media, who control Metacritic and all that, would hold more space for non-Western stories

Following news of the "ceasefire" and seeing reports of Israel actively killing people in different parts of the region in the middle of updates for the ceasefire negotiations is going to turn me into the Joker.

Having a great time with this one right now. In addition to the look, sound, and history of it, some really excellent puzzle design! Keeps surprising me with what its transmuting hook can do, and just feels great to execute. Lovely game.

I want to echo Rami's call to play and review the House of Hikmah, and while I'm not one to rock the boat, I do also want to call on other outlets to cover the game.

It currently has only 3 reviews on MetaCritic, and needs at least 4 to get an aggregated score. Help people find this beautiful game.

You might want to read a history book or two.

Shipping a game and making a game are two entirely separate skills, and everyone who has ever shipped anything has run into this issue too. Including me. Frequently. It just takes time building Building Relationships.
