Retreat day 1🌿
Yesterday, CEM arrived at MolsLab in beautiful sunshine, kicking off our annual 3-day retreat dedicated to deep dives into CEM’s key research areas.
We spent the day in focused scientific group work across our core topics, bringing together diverse skills, backgrounds and disciplines
This February we said goodbye to our Guest PhD-student, Gabriella, who has been visiting CEM from Italy. During her stay Gabriella contributed academically while also becoming a valued part of our community🔬🌟

Last month, we had the pleasure of celebrating Lars Peter Nielsen's 40-year anniversary at Aarhus University 🎉
The day was celebrated with colleagues, collaborators, friends and family, with music, food and a number of speeches.

We are proud to congratulate our PhD student, Mie Mai Corneliussen, on successfully completing her PhD Part A exam on cable bacteria and biogeochemistry.
Well done, Mie👏
Our postdoc, @martasu.bsky.social, will, in her MSCA project, study the symbiotic relationship between cable bacteria and seagrasses, exploring how these microbes may improve plant health, mitigate toxic sulphides and support growth under nitrogen limitation via N₂ fixation. 🌱🔬

Last week, Prof. @larspeternielsen.bsky.social was the opening speaker at the 20th Congress of the Argentinian Microbiological Society in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia🌎
Exciting to see cable bacteria joining electromicrobiology research in Argentina🔬👏We look forward to future collaborations with SAMIGE.
