Yay, another person who was influenced by Lisa Frank! I was *obsessed* as a kid and drew SO MANY Ballerina Bunnies.
I may not have known what a furry was back then, but between that and the crushes on Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks and Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life, I was always skirting the edges of furry fandom. XD
Ah, Gunsmith Cats. In the days before internet access was as good as it was, I 100% would reference his pictures of guns in artwork. XD
(Special mentions to Samurai Pizza Cats and Sonic the Hedgehog, because man, I drew them both A Lot too.)
I had the *stencils*, I tried making my own copies of her work (especially that ballerina bunny one), I was just. Obsessed as a kid. Probably still would be if I didn't know as much about the fuckery going on behind the scenes at her company as I do now.
And then, while Sailor Moon kicked off the anime obsession, Akira Toriyama and Rumiko Takahashi's more simplified styles really stuck with me, along with their comedic timing.
Lisa Frank may not have an obvious influence *now*, but oh my god do you know how much I tried drawing like her as a kid?
