Oh no. It’s one of the worst to wade only because of its size. Everything in loose below the dam. I fall in every time. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

We should hit up the Savage when that knee is healed. A nice brown from there last month…

Almost everything I ordered from them was the finest piece of equipment or clothing I ever owned. Now I have a hardly used pair of wading boots that the felt soles fall off of every time I use them. Old simms would’ve sent me new ones or done a repair. New simms sends me a YouTube vid to fix myself

The #25DaysofFishmas calendar with Apache trout on December 10

The #25DaysofFishmas calendar with Apache trout on December 10

You better not cry, you better not trout, ‘cause Salmonid Claus is coming to town! 🎅🐟

On Day 10 of #25DaysofFishmas, we head to Arizona's White Mountains to meet the Apache Trout (Oncorhynchus apache), whose recovery isn't a #Fishmas miracle, but a result of over 50 years of people working together

A person holding an Apache trout

The Apache trout’s steep decline in the 20th century - and eventual listing as an Endangered Species - was due to a combo of habitat damage from poor grazing + timber-harvesting practices and introduction of non-native trout species (which compete + hybridize with the Apache trout) #25DaysofFishmas

Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

Large rainbow trout with its head in a net, with a bright red stripe down its side, a black spotted, green back. Its large tail hangs straight far beyond the side of the net.

Picture of the same rainbow trout described in the first picture but fully in the net.
