Paid games have more legal restrictions on in-game currencies, whereas “free-to-play” games are almost unrestricted. These free-to-play games also hide behind a corporate marketing agenda that players can’t complain because “it’s free!” - please don’t believe them, they just want your money

Free games are more expensive than paid titles in recent years. “Oh it’s FREE - you can’t complain.” correction: it’s free for you to be at a disadvantage. I’m boggled people don’t understand money is equal to time. Companies gaslight their sheep customers into agreeing with them, and it works.

Pokemon Champions feel like a cash grab, and will incentivize genning. Why are the rental periods so short, and why is there a currency to keep them permanent and/or change stats? What’s the point of a battle pass? It’s corporate garbage. Not touching this game. Naive fans will say it’s great. 🤦‍♂️

I appreciate the help, we’ll see. I’m going to order new HDMI cables, in case the issue is there.

This is the issue. My monitor does not scale down when I plug my switch in without the capture card, so it’s an issue with my capture card.

I spent all day trying to get my Elgato HD 60S+ to work w/ my Switch 2. I get the image, but it scales my monitor down to 720p. Any resolution settings I make get reverted once docked. I think I have a faulty HDMI cable or my capture card is messed up. Tried everything. EDID, different ports, etc. 😔

It’s just a part of enjoying the hobby as an adult. I’ve accepted that most people my/your age won’t often understand or be nice about it. I went to Pokemon Worlds in Anaheim last year and brought my friend who made fun of me for even being there. It’s all good. We know what we signed up for. 👍

I’ll be streaming my shiny starter hunt in FRLG this week (starting Tuesday or Wednesday).

Phantom Hourglass felt like a massive game when I first played it. I don’t understand how people rate it poorly. One of my favorites.

Might dream team shiny hunt Leaf Green on stream, one switch. Slow but that’s how we did it as kids.

You should dream team shiny hunt on one switch console for FR or LG as a tribute to the pre-multiconsole hunt days from when we were kids. Max pain, max reward.

More will follow. There really isn’t a shelf life for the GB/GBA/DS era of Pokemon, and they know that.

NSO is so trash, the fact we’re getting standalone versions of FR/LG is wonderful.

FYI, you have to buy annual subscriptions (no monthly) to NSO expansion pack, and would lose access to the games if/when servers shut down or you stop paying. NSO is not your friend.
