"I am so grateful to Arctic Circle for hosting this plenary event," he said. "Good discussions on difficult topics are so important, and Katrín Jakobsdóttir's chairing was masterful. It was fantastic to listen and learn from Dalee Sambo Dorough (University of Alaska) and Mark Symes (ARIA)."

The CLEAR-Methane project created a design for filters that, when installed in ventilation systems, could help both our health and our planet.

This week, they've published a paper highlighting its feasibility: www.climaterepair.cam.ac.uk/news/health-...

We must not stop research on solar geoengineering | Letters Letters: Bryony Worthington says the media should not be pushing a western attitude to climate strategies to the detriment of African nations. Plus letters from Prof Hugh Hunt, Dr Portia Adade William...

Read the Letters from @hughhunt.bsky.social, Bryony Worthington, Portia Adade Williams and Angela Churie Kallhauge, as well as the Editorial: www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Our own Prof Hugh Hunt emphasised one thing the article got right: solar geoengineering is not to be promoted as a "solution to global heating... All these ideas are the subject of serious research, in universities around the world, that takes ethical and governance considerations seriously."

Last week, @theguardian.com published an Editorial on geoengineering. Tagline: "Sun-dimming risks putting the planet’s thermostat under Donald Trump’s control. Better to adopt the precautionary principle with high-stakes science."

Today, three Letters push back against the claims of the article.
