Me: let's conduct one more experiment before turning in my capstone
Also me: discovers that flora/fauna exist on a continuous emotional manifold in myth, and don't cluster by species. Each dot is a creature mention 🐱🐶🌷 . (I didn't even know what a manifold was this morning)

have you heard them say nonante instead of quatre vingt dix yet?
Half the park is after dark! And I recognized it from the trees :D. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did hahah, we accidentally timed it during a full moon, so I am hoping to go back someday with more stars and less light.
One of my best memories at glacier was going to Logan pass at midnight on one of my friend's last days as a guide. We saw a coyote, mountain goats, and the moon was so bright we didn't need flashlights.
A colossal squid has been captured on camera for the first time in the deep sea by an international team of researchers steering a remotely operated submersible.
GemmaDolphin: an LLM for dolphins
the weirdest cool thing
they fine-tuned Gemma. No text, instead they’re pairing audio & video — sounds to dolphin movements
they’ve been able to identify key structures, like dolphin names and “battle cries”

alright y'all I've solved language mimicry and chatbots, we can pack it up now:
A hamster / mister saddlebags with EXTREMELY chubby cheeks
The Syrian Arabic word for a hamster is أبو جراب (abu jrab), where jrab refers to a pouch/saddlebag/tote. And abu often means “father of,” but can also function as a general honorific (like “mister”). So it’s not too big a stretch to say the Syrian Arabic word for a hamster means “Mister Saddlebags”
Takeaways from #bostondh25: map archives are super cool, wikipedia editing culture is *intense*, and I wish I'd gotten more people's contact information cause so many projects sounded amazing
if there's bestiary for a collection of fauna, what's a fru fru name for a collection of flora?

Making a bit of a bestiary with the semantic roles of creatures across stories for the Boston Digital Humanities Symposium and I'm obsessed with the range of birds popping up in stories 🦚🦜🐓🐔🦃🦅🐧
Working on extra visuals for my poster presentation on quantifying flora/fauna in myths at the Boston Digital Humanities symposium next week and I'm OBSESSED with the taxonomy charts. #datavisualization
