Linux will never be bought out or sold to anyone. It is free to use and modify. It is software for the people. Stop complaining about corporations if you're going to keep giving them money. If you do this you're actually part of the problem and there is nothing you can do or say to stop them.

Whatever Apple or Microsoft are doing in terms of usability they probably stole from Linux anyway. I've replaced every single software I used to pay for with opensource alternatives. It took some time to find the right tools for me but they are out there. You are not locked into anything.

If you're super angry at corporations forcing A.I. on you, you are not obligated to use their products. You can switch to Linux. You have to learn some things but you'll have what you want and you can support developers who care about delivering working products and aren't trying to fleece you.

Just realizing that you think I use Windows. I don't. I use Linux and I only use opensource on my entire work stack. I gave up on corporate owned software a while back. No cloud services except for gmail.

As far as local LLMs go, only a few can tell me the current time and date. it's not consistent amongst providers or versions. Gemma 2 and 3 can, 4 cannot, gptoss can, Mistral can, Deepseek can a bit and qwen cannot.
