Though TDN guitarist Michael Allsup is still with us, I'm unclear if he tours with Danny anymore. Please give us a report on the show!

You're right! We really dodged a bullet, as they were EVERYWHERE by this point ๐Ÿ‘

I wish I'd spent more time interacting with everyone vs. continually bouncing around or hitting "Reload Page" to goose glitchy Bluesky, but a great show from 1971 nonetheless. (@support.bsky.team, PLEASE fix this!!) #AT40

All props to writer Hoyt Axton, but that legendary keyboard intro was composed by Three Dog Night's MVP keyboardist, Jimmy Greenspoon ๐Ÿ‘ #AT40 ("Joy To The World" #1 April 1971)

By my count, we're up to 9 "glitch-outs."

I was all set for the "fastest selling single by a female artist" to have been The Singing Nun, but I'm thrilled to learn it's the fantastic "Harper Valley P.T.A" by Jeannie C. Riley from 1968! (See what you're missing, Tom?) #AT40

My original single of Paul McCartney's "Another Day" purchased spring '71. (It wasn't part of an album, so, if you wanted the song, you had to get the 45.) Writing credited to "Mr. & Mrs. Paul McCartney." #AT40

In today's "Who's At The Bottom Of The Billboard Hot 100" this week in April '71, we find Mike Nesmith still plugging along with his First National Band and their latest single "Nevada Fighter" entering at #94. It'd get up to #70 a couple weeks later, then disappear ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ. #AT40

By my count, we're up to 7 "glitch-outs" since our show began, and we haven't hit the 2-hour mark yet. Sigh. Yo, @support.bsky.team !

OK, #AT40 women:

David asked "Where is love? Who is love? I gotta know."

Shout out your answer!

Yes, Ike & Tina Turner's "Proud Mary" rocks, but what I remember most were the TV appearances of Tina and The Ikettes - with, what I'm convinced of, were the shortest mini-dresses ever featured flouncing on broadcast TV. Not that that meant much to 13-year old me. (Ahem.) ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜„ #AT40

I have The GTO's album (on CD.) It's... hard to listen to ๐Ÿ˜„, but I had to get it for its historical value! (Hoping that means you've read both of Pamela's books - they're wonderful! That's her ex-husband, Michael Des Barres, on Sirius' Underground Garage.)

MY FAVORITE song from "All Things Must Pass" - "What Is Life" April '71 on #AT40. (I must have picked up this single later, as I got the album when it was new in late '70.) George later felt Phil Spector's production was overblown, but he was wrong. It's GLORIOUS!!

The Alice Cooper Group was working with Frank Zappa at the time and, when Alice told Frank the story about the chickens was not true, Frank said "Well, don't tell anybody. They love it!" 2/2

It all comes from one festival show in Toronto in '70, when some idiot in the audience threw a live chicken on stage. City boy Alice, thinking all birds can fly, threw it back into the audience, and the crowd ripped the poor bird apart. 1/2

ONCE AGAIN, this "live chickens as stage props" story Casey repeats (yeah, I know, it's only 1971) is completely false. That notoriety helped Alice Cooper in the early days, but just know it's BS. NEVERTHELESS, here's one of the greatest singles of all time: "I'm Eighteen" April '71 on #AT40

After just one hour, we're up to FOUR "glitch-outs" on our #AT40 timeline. @support.bsky.team, are you seeing our cries for help??? (This is an ongoing problem. Our dedicated timeline for the #AT40 hashtag keeps disappearing.)

Always glad to hear Glen Campbell (here's "Dream Baby"), but no doubt his continuing singles success was being fueled by "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," still on CBS-TV at the time of this April '71 #AT40.

That's the only place I ever saw it! - And then the record company just gave up and deleted it. Fortunately, all the music was pulled into Elton John's "Rare Master" CD box set ๐Ÿ‘

Did our timeline just glitch out AGAIN for everybody, or just me? #AT40

4 days ago 16 0 5 0

Hello (again) @support.bsky.team. Once AGAIN, posts with the #AT40 hashtag are not appearing in a dedicated timeline. Our group regularly places within the top trending hashtags when we convene (Thursday evenings & Saturday afternoons.) I understand Bluesky can ill-afford losing users. FIX THIS!

Testing - because I've not seen one #AT40 post more recent than an hour ago (it's a little after 9:00 PM Eastern.) If I see this show up in our timeline, I'll delete. If I don't, I think I'll bail. October 1976 had its moments, but... meh.

While Trump & his cronies deny we're at war with Iran, they want to emulate FDR's WWII reach-out to Detroit to "join the war effort???"

Worth viewing for Generic Mid-70's Dancing Blonde alone! (And could they have found a WORSE picture of Ann & Nancy Wilson??)

You've chosen wisely (an extra-long show from 1979? No thanks!)
