The two worst examples I always cite are "She breathes through her skin" and "Link can't be a girl because of the prophecy (that we invented)."
Posts by Hayden Dingman will be at GDC 2026
She breathes through her skin, Phil!
The sorest of sore losers, man. Embarrassing.
Two black cats sitting in an enormous Costco stir fry box.
I just think this article is so beautiful.
Support your local venues if (while) you can. I will miss Bottom of the Hill and their extremely janky but extremely fair and straightforward ticket processing.
The exorbitant fees were frustrating, the resellers even more so, but the "There is no list price for these tickets, they algorithmically go up and up and up in price based on demand" bullshit is why these companies deserve to be buried.
I've been playing it on Steam Deck! The controls are finicky at times because it was clearly built mouse-first, but I mapped the right trackpad to a mouse for moments where the UI gets too cluttered and that's solved it. Most of the time the D-pad + A button are more than enough, though.
Fair warning: I started it at 11PM the other night and then it was 2AM. Don't make the same mistake.
I've been playing too much Beyond Words. It's Scrabble plus Balatro. Many similar games in the last year but this is the first I've seen with a persistent Scrabble board, which limits your options over a run but also rewards tactical positioning. I love it.

Five of the best games ever made in one bundle, easy recommendation.
Choosing to believe my recent tax bill went to NASA.
No one likes unnecessary scaffolding. Thankfully, we have a plan — and John Wilson is here to help break it down.
Are there enough players for the people online to have a good time? Cool. That seems okay, then.
Mission Local is GROWING!
You don't need to be a particularly close reader to know we've been reporting beyond the Mission District for some time.
We're now making it official: We've launched landing pages in 5 neighborhoods, w/dedicated beat reporters in each...
Spectacular images taken by the Artemis II crew of earthset and the eclipse. Just incredible. NASA posts them here and it’s free to access: images.nasa.gov
tryna be snide about the TL today but humanity just broke its own record for travelling the furthest distance in space and i am choosing to post about that instead

Yes, live streaming this is pretty great
My friend found a copy of Cool Spot in a dumpster. I didn't know a single other person who knew about Cool Spot or even believed that there was a game starring the dot from the 7up logo.
It was the most important game any of us played that summer.
I think the thing I miss most about 20 years ago was you could just not know or care how many people watched/played/listened to/read the things you did.
If anything, the default was "I'm the only person who knows about this" until you met someone else who knew about it and discovered otherwise.
Yeah, if I recall correctly the US is also the only country on earth that forces citizens to pay taxes even if they live and earn money abroad. And if you renounce your citizenship, they charge you a hefty fee on your way out as well.
Cried a bit. I wish humanity did more stuff like this.
youtu.be/SBKLD2CDnjk?...
this is so much fun. Rocket launchers feel so different when it's "thing American public did together with their tax dollars and their government scientists" vs. "erratic billionaires with plans to replace us all with AI are lobbing more rich people or profit-making satellite into space"
Yes! People become fans of these companies as children and then for whatever reason expect the company to continue prioritizing them as they get older instead of making stuff for the next cohort of children.
It's okay to remain a fan if you still get something out of it, but it's not meant for you!
There is a lot of bad stuff happening in the world but I still think it's cool NASA is going back to the moon today. www.youtube.com/live/Tf_UjBM...

I don't think people should've allowed Andy Weir to move on from Artemis so easily, to be honest.
