Not always though as my next reply points out.
In other words, when it’s good it’s very very good but when it’s bad it’s awful.

BUT there are plenty of examples of retcons that improved the canon. Genesis of the Daleks contradicted Dalek history, but it’s the best Dalek story ever. Fans hated Deadly Assassin at 1st for revamping the Time Lords but now regard it a classic that spawned a bunch of new story opportunities.
I don’t think it’s as simple as (some) fans getting upset when Doctor Who appears to contradict its own canon.
I think fans get annoyed when the change is a) seemingly frivolous (“I’m half human”), b) blatantly careless (Mawdryn Undead), or c) doesn’t improve the canon (Timeless Child perhaps?).
I see this kind of thinking on eBay every day. Just because that comic is 20+ years old doesn’t mean someone’s gonna pay three figures.
Comic of the beetle from the cover of Massive Attack's "Mezzanine" meeting the crab from the cover of The Prodigy's "Fat of the Land".
Hi this joke is for me
Any news on when we might get a release date? A date for the date?
As good as this looks, I can't escape the feeling this is a Star-Lord solo movie transposed into the DCU.
Imagine losing like this lmao
I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

Christian Nationalism is a Cult of Convenience
The reality is you will spend half of every day now looking for wherever you put your glasses down last.

Nice to see I’m not the only one whose copy of The Discontinuity Guide is falling apart from overuse, so much so I bought another copy last year. Plus is there a copy of the Unfolding Text in existence WITHOUT a faded spine?
as far as i can tell pope leo has never mentioned trump by name hes just like “killing people is wrong” or “concentration camps arent good” and theyre all taking it personally
This is why he fought projectors: $20 per pair of eyeballs and you want to show it to a WHOLE ROOM AT ONCE???
(He obviously lost)
Last time I was in the US, I looked up where I could buy comics near where I was in downtown Cleveland. It was going to be a real trek on public transport so didn’t bother.
Last time I was in the UK, I picked up 2000AD, The Beano & Monster Fun (RIP) in the local supermarket when I went to get milk!
I think we’re at the bit where the crash test dummy smashes in slo-mo through the windscreen wondering why no one thought to install airbags in this thing.
This! Like it or not, kids aren’t running into the comics shop with their pocket money. In the UK they go to the local newsagent (if any are left) or the magazines and toys aisle of the supermarket. In the US are corner drug stores still a thing?
Comics need to go where the kids are!

It is a profound irony when the nation under attack feels more empathy for the attacker's citizens than the attacking government itself.

Four frames. Angus Taylor and journo. 1. Angus: “We need to decide who we let into this country...” Journo: “We already do, through our immigration process.” 2. A: “Yes, well we need to make sure they respect our values…” J: “They already have to pass a values test.” 3. A: “Well, we need to ensure they don’t breach these values…” J: “We have laws, and consequences for people who break them.” 4. A: “Something something people from Gaza…” J: “It’s hard coming second to Pauline, isn’t it.”
All he’s got.
My @smh cartoon.
The USA is such a broken country. “Land of the free” indeed!
I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."
Headline on Hollywood Reporter that reads ”Paddington 4, Escape From New York' Reboot in the Works”
I misread the headline as one movie and got very excited for a moment…
