It took all the way til 6pm today for me to get an angry email about my latest editorial. I was getting worried nobody cared. www.broadstreetreview.com/editorials/p...

Never forget I wrote a free public guide for anyone who isn’t sure how to take action (including a guide for calling Congress) docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Meme that says “MAGAs at the funeral: ‘we can disagree and still love each other’” up top and below that says: “People who needed Medicaid and the ACA” and then a photo of a tombstone that has “you voted for this” written on it
Call your senators and keep making a ruckus. They will take health insurance away from millions like me so they can give billionaires a little treat
#4 all the way but good news is you will look awesome no matter which you choose
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Millions march, corporate media calls it thousands. Dozens of Broad Street Review writers joined #NoKings day. Here are the protests in their own words: www.broadstreetreview.com/editorials/b...
This isn’t grabbing headlines, but the @septaphilly.bsky.social doomsday budget would kill Philly’s arts & culture scene. Tips for action in my story. Time is running out to save public transit in our city. www.broadstreetreview.com/editorials/s...
I don’t make the rules

I love that you covered this

Chat with top Philly authors! Super excited for BSR’s June 4 author panel (on Zoom!). Join us and bring your questions for @elisejuska.bsky.social, @ericsmithrocks.bsky.social, @trejohnson.bsky.social, John Morrison, and @aliontas.bsky.social 👀📚❤️
Thanks to @pasenatorsaval.com staffer Emily Berkowitz for taking my call and helping to walk me through suggested action items. Our reps’ offices should be a resource for advocacy!
Lots of reporting on effects of SEPTA “doomsday” cuts; not enough practical info to know what we can do to save the transit we rely on. I want to help change that with my clear resource guide. Read, choose an action to take, and spread this info widely! docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Saw it a few hours ago and I can’t think about anything else
I'm sure someone has already said this more eloquently, but autistic folks who don't pay taxes are still valuable human beings, and people with criminal records should still not be disappeared to foreign extra judicial prison sites. Inherent human worth is the hill.
I am holding up a hand lettered sign at a protest outside Independence Hall. It says “Kilmar’s case is a legal pollution. Bring him home. It’s the only solution. He’s a fascist exhibit and if YOU won’t admit it, you’re shitting in our constitution”
I am holding my hand lettered sign up at a protest outside Independence Hall. It says “Maga voters are out of excuses. Separation of powers? He refuses. With executive orders fit only for Mordor, Congress must stop trump’s abuses.”
A man holding a sign at the protest. It is his own art with satirical portraits of Elon musk, JD Vance, Trump, and RFK Junior
Protestors at the April 19 March in Philly hold signs calling for the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia
Thanks everyone who showed up today. Keep showing up. I don’t think patriotism is its own end. I don’t think there’s any point in loving a country or America in particular. But a functional country with basic rights can protect people who need it, including me.
I love how this whole administration’s healthcare philosophy is just straight up eugenics
You might not need this yourself, but I bet someone you know does. Keep the info rippling in your network.
BOOK DRIVE FOR INCARCERATED YOUTH No Borders is partnering with a local librarian to bring requested books to youths ages 12-18 who are incarcerated at Crossroads Juvenile Center in Brooklyn. last year @nobordersbooks.bsky.social sent 600+ books to Rikers; this year our book drive is for teens who are incarcerated in Brooklyn. please purchase a book if you can—most of these are requested titles, and a $7 Goosebumps book would mean A LOT to a kid in detention bookshop.org/wishlists/70...
Text thread showing someone asking me why I am protesting. I answer that it’s because of Trump’s unconstitutional deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia
Text thread continues with the person saying that Garcia has a criminal record. I answer that it’s it true, but that even if it was, he would be entitled to due process under the constitution
Text continues with the person saying that protests are useless because the courts must decide the issue. I answer that the Supreme Court has already unanimously ruled in favor the illegally deported man and the president is ignoring that, and that constitutional crisis is why people are protesting
Keep talking to loved ones who haven’t woken up yet. If they refuse to wake up, keep doing what you know is right.
Yeah protesting is honestly difficult for me but I do it often anyway. It is TOUGH if you have chronic pain or are tired and overwhelmed or overstimulated by crowds and noise. Always takes me a long time to recover
In Philly, I noticed what seemed to be a higher than usual number of disabled protesters of all ages (including myself though my disability is non-apparent). We know that we are on the cusp of losing everything we fought for with the ADA. I’m seeing fierce advocacy from disabled folks.
My April Hands Off protest march sign is edged with red white and blue crochet squares. The text says “Yarn People Unite Against Yuge Fascists”
My April Hands Off protest march sign is edged with red white and blue crochet squares. The text says “America is unraveling” and has the website taxstrike.info
I want to start an anti-fascist crochet circle. Knitters welcome too.
Hi, sending me a pitch or press release that’s a joke or prank is a quick way to get yourself blocked for today and all the days that come after April 1. Maybe other journalists have the patience for this in the year of our lord 2025 but I do not 🤗
