Pretty galling to tell someone they need a proofreader because of this when it's a well-known fact that no one can spell lingusitics right on the first try.

I thought about this John Mulaney bit a lot: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiqK...
I get that. Most of my work at my last job was editing pleas for donations to the university, and even though (at the time) I loved the university, I felt ickier about it as time went on.
It was mostly hassling recent grads for little donations or sucking up to rich people to get big donations.

Happy birthday!
Counterpoint: I use em dashes with abandon and will not let "AI" steal them from me. I was overusing them first and will continue to do so long after "AI" is a crater in our financial system, or our merciless overlords, or both
My brain autocompleted "the fanciest" with "Dijon ketchups"
(But not a real green dress, that's cruel.)
I'd buy you a green dress.
A headline reading "Shoe company Allbirds pivots to AI compute in sign of a totally normal and healthy economy" with the subhead "Say hello to 'NewBird AI.'"

Fine, I'll take it to the periodicals section.
Looking forward to it! (And good luck!)
This sounds great, Tom! Any chance it'll be available to watch or read later for those of who can't pop over to the UK to attend?
Yeah. I get what she meant, but I don't think I'd really want to go back that far. The preteen and teen years have actually been a lot of fun.
My mom recently told me that she'd give anything to go back to when my siblings and I were all little, and I get it.
It's a weird feeling. I'm really proud of and happy for my oldest too, but I miss him. He might not move home for the summer, and that feels extra weird. Again, I'm happy that he's becoming an independent adult, but it's hard to get used to. And my second-oldest starts college this fall. :\
A "Get in, loser" meme with the text "We're going to shed our corporeal forms and become beings of pure energy"
brb, ascending to a higher level of existence as a being pure energy
My sister claimed that she baptized her cat when she was a kid, but I'm not sure it counted in the eyes of God.
I'm not religious anymore, but I vaguely remember talking to my mom about it at some point when I was a kid. I think the conclusion was that it was fine, but I don't remember the reasoning. Maybe it was that scripture was silent on the issue? 😄
“Listen up, fives!”
And, of course, the historical contemporary fiction novel.
After I watched Arrested Development with my kids, they started saying "Hey, that's the name of the show!" whenever it happens.
