In re Graham Platner’s lack of qualifications.
The more I think about this response, the the crazier it sounds

Yeah. Great. Cuz you see how well people who are unqualified work out so you say "Hey! Let's try that with our people too!"

GP isn't a candidate running for office. He's an actor auditioning for a part.

He's mistaken.
I am SO ready

Also, a mantis egg sac means some guy got his head bitten off. So that's nice.

and establishment Dems have forgotten how to engage with it.
Both sides need to act in good faith, and there is very little of that anywhere these days.

"How much compromise is too much?" is the constant question.
People in elected office have to negotiate that all the time. That's what politics means.
I feel like our society has lost the concept of the loyal opposition.
Progressives (for want of a better tetm) have forgotten how to be it

I'm not in CA now but grew up there.
Becerra has the bona fides. He has a record of careful, honest leadership. He has CA in his heart.
I trust my old home in his hands not bc he says so, but bc he's shown up and done the work for decades

bc they don't listen or want to compromise.
If standing up for their beliefs means accomplishing fuck-all, then WTF good is it?

It doesn't matter what progressives "stand for" if they can't deliver.
"Fighting for what you believe in" once a person takes office doesn't look at all like campaigning.
Legislating is tedious, detailed, often frustrating work. It requires listening and compromise.
Leftists tend to suck at it

I consider myself pretty far left politically, but I'm aware that not everyone agrees with me.
Legislating is a *job* and a pretty boring one on a day-to-day basis.
Ima vote for temperament and experience over utopian goals and knowing fuck-all about how government works.

What other reason could there even be?!

It was gobsmacking.
His attitude was "I don't work here. Why should I help you? I've got perfect right to say no."
Replies has to spell it out for him:
"No one is saying you don't have the *right* to say no. We're just saying you're an asshole."

Africa is home to over a half dozen language families comprising over 2,000 different languages. There are hundreds of different culture groups. Africa is huge and extremely diverse.
Is unity going to mean homogeneity? Whose culture gets erased in the name of unity?

A few years ago some tall guy on Twitter admitted - nay, bragged - he always refused to help fellow customers get stuff from high shelves. Then he whined when he got dragged for being a dick.

You're leaving out the part where he tried to re-enlist in 2009. He claims he wasn't allowed back in bc of his arm tattoo, but the Marines don't refuse people with pre-existing body art *unless* it has "extremist" associations.
His recruiter must have told him about it in 2009. And he kept it.

She has no more way of knowing about his sincerity than we do. All anyone knows is what he says. He has no record, no experience, no qualifications.
He's not a candidate running for office; he's an actor auditioning for a part.

Unconscious racism is almost always operational.
On the other hand, she has said she's in favor of a national conversation about reparations, while Bernie dismisses reparations out hand.

I think this is good summary.
She did meaningful work in consumer protection. But she's showing terrible political instincts here.
She must believe that she can mentor GP once he gets elected. But he's not gonna take advice from any woman.

Pastor is preaching on Justin Fairfax and IMO he's going down the wrong road, preaching about mental health.

Attributing the Fairfax murder/suicide to "mental health issues" puts the blame of the situation on CERINA for not seeing the signs, not doing enough, not getting HIM help, for leaving him.
