i mean, i was a teenager when mother 3 came out and i vividly remember spoiling myself on the whole intro (before the fan tl) and thinking "this is freaking epic..." i do still kind of think that

@gooey4347, 6 years ago You know a game means business when one of the first bosses is a freaking cyborg t-rex
that's so fucking true gooey
i just want to be a story and art guy... i just want to be a story and art guy... [starts drawing] i just want to be a story guy
this is what i feared... i need them to be haters
to be fair, it was used a bit inconsistently!
receiving reports that they do fight. well, that's good. every time i see that initial friendship conversation play out i want one of the miis to say "no i don't want to talk about [monster trucks] you fucking loser lmao"
i've watched like 4 streams of tomodachi life now. do the miis ever fight? do they ever get mad. is there ever any drama. one would think that would be part of the appeal

and you still haven't read soulsov ch3...? 🥺 gigidigi.itch.io/soulsov

you know, this is something nice about making a visual novel in early access as opposed to a webcomic. formatting changes like this are both easier and more reasonable. if i decided in ch5 of cucumber quest that i actually wanted noisemaster's speech bubbles to look different it would be over for me
today i am considering the "standardization" of "orange text." i originally wanted every exalted to have their own color (the chanter's was red before), but then i realized i liked the simplicity of this approach... well, nothing's final yet, but let's think about it together for ten seconds.
forgive me for dredging up this old trauma
smiling sadly... yeah..........
hi angie
oh my god lol
i sometimes wish i were a tabletop guy. i have never played a tabletop rpg. well, i played d&d about 15 years ago. the gm sent my adventuring party to the "dick dimension." that was the only session we ever played.
you are my precious wifenow and wiforever
"what games have you been playing lately?" i haven't played a video game in 15 years. i looked at a shitty picture of xander in a heart-shaped locket and felt a pang of mournful longing
spinning a big wheel where all the spots are labeled "ffxiii-2 apologia" or "fire emblem fates apologia"

loic does Not say "fuck." he doesn't do that
anyway, once again, if you liked lady of the shard, you need to read soulsov. it's mandatory. i'm not kidding gigidigi.itch.io/soulsov
i say all of this because people occasionally come to me asking "what if people online get mad at me for the stories i write?" my answer is: you can't do anything about that. but also, in ten years, it probably isn't going to matter much at all.
it discouraged me to the point of thinking "maybe i won't do anything like that again." looking back, i think it was an early factor in my burnout. anyway, multiple people who said these things have since changed their stances and are now championing "problematic fiction" on this very website.
this is mostly because there wasn't really a proper "callout" per se. there were a few scattered negative responses ranging from "this made me uncomfortable" to "the author should be ashamed for making this" to other things i won't repeat.
