Today is day 1 of writing my new novel. I've got a good outline, a list of scenes, and a reminder that this is all for fun. Wish me luck!

I checked, this is true
If you’re looking for a fun, antifascist sci-fi multispecies buddy comedy book series (with a very good audiobook version), I highly recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl.
I’m on Book 3 and it’s been a blast from start to finish.
I've never written Progression Fantasy before, so as I'm plotting the outline I'm really trying to be intentional with the *progression* aspect. How do the advancements line up with emotional beats? How are they communicated in a way that doesn't feel too gamey?
Lots of things to ponder.
I’m moving on to Cradle books 11 and 12… can’t believe how quickly I’ve gone through this series!
One of my favorite things about writing are all the dumb rabbit holes you chase in the planning and research phase.
Yes, it *is* important that I watch these videos on the history of the medieval fishing economy. Thanks for asking.
Really trying to hone in on a key theme and logline before I start writing my progression fantasy novel. Not because I think I’ll 100% stick to it, but because I think I need that gentle nudge along the way to keep me on message and avoid unnecessary fluff
Just finished up Cradle Book 8, which is up there with the best of that series for me. My read rate is starting to look like an exponential graph as I approach the end.
Thank you! I appreciate the info
Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.
1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.
2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.
Are there any specific hashtags that fantasy writers on Bluesky like? Especially if they are for LitRPG or Progression Fantasy!

Incredibly. I wrote a novel and went the more traditional route and found it so soul-sucking even when it went well, so I'm excited to explore other avenues like RR. Feels a lot more like writing from a place of passion again!

As I look to start my Progression Fantasy journey, I found this excellent video by @paultodkill.bsky.social about getting started on Royal Road!
