The paper had a rough ride. I never quite understood why. It shows how stochastic incentives outperform deterministic pay.
Today my paper with Nora and Lukas Wenner, ‚More effort with less pay’ got accepted - a dozen years after its inception - very emotional moment. I remember so vividly when we were plotting in Berlin.

Thank you! It was indeed my sheer happiness that someone finally got in touch that made me overlook the (clear, in retrospect) warning signs … Kudos to them for coming up with something that well crafted - feeding on desperation and with well-designed steps like their egyptair complaints form …
I had once a case where there were queries during the exam. I went to the room and explained the question and, as I couldn’t restrain myself: also the answer — which didn’t help though … Scarred me for life.
Sadly, yes, it seems. Because I approved the transaction with two-factor authentication and all. They just sent the money then and it’s gone …
