Agree! We are in Fishtown, and it's pretty good here with trees, but there are lots of places in Philly where there aren't any or aren't enough.

Yes. The answer is yes.

I had one almost mow me down in the crosswalk and then roll her window down to yell at me. That was cool.
We all want things. I want him to prove to me he is not a lizard person.
I am awfully partial to Time Bandits. How about you?
I had a post just go kinda viral-ish over on IG and I got a few of those, and I’m like, friends, no one is paying me anything for my lil’ comics and I have to have a day job to be able to afford to teach a class now and then.
Lol I posted something there late last week and it got a lot of attention. Oops.
The hair situation is giving John Edwards, another empty can with a pebble in it
Also! She does visual/graphic essay instead of comics, but Ariel Aberg-Riger works with a lot of collaged historical photos and documents in her visual storytelling.
Nora Krug comes immediately to mind for collage. And Julie Doucet’s Carpet Sweeper Tales. There’s also Shira Spector’s Red Rock Candy Baby. Frank Santoro’s Pittsburgh.
For sale: baby shoes, never worn.
This is my favorite painting in the entire Metropolitan Museum of Art. I go see it every time I visit. The brushwork on her gown…

Telephone pole ad seeking a witch to hex someone’s ex.
I’m fully booked at the moment, but maybe one of you could help out with this?
I lived and studied in Germany in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. Rode the train all over. Was there in December two years ago and could not believe how awful it was, and I regularly ride Amtrak now!
Seeing the same on LinkedIn for copywriting jobs. And the pay is super low.
David Lasky makes and reaches Haiku comics @davidlasky.bsky.social and Grant Snider has published a book of poetry comics for kids recently. Issues of the now defunct INK BRICK have lots of great examples. ANMLY also publishes some.
Silent comics are so much harder to make and communicate what you intend to communicate!
No subsidies for us, 2 freelancers in our late 50s/early 60s. Going up from almost 1700 total to about ~2200 for a silver plan. It was already our largest expense BEFORE the increase.
A haiku comic called Early November with a full color large drawing of Palmer Cemetery in Philadelphia overlaid with 3 panels featuring line drawings. Panel 1 is a rotting jack-o-lantern. Panel 2 is a dead tree with eyeball ornaments hanging on it. Panel 3 is a creepy owl sculpture in window box. The hand lettered text reads: fake spider webs float/dead leaves on the ground/winter creeps closer.
I made a thing. After months and months of not making anything.
I had been wondering what the story was behind this project, and now I know. Thank you!

I'm angry and also worried. The 9:00 PM "curfew"/shut down that starts Jan 1 is going to be very bad for very many people.
