I’ve been mad at books before, but @samiraahmed.bsky.social just casually inventing what sounds like the best candy ever and leaving it there is a whole new level.
Another really cool life experience - interviewing Andrew Joseph White for @yalsa.bsky.social ‘s blog, The Hub.

Before I knew of this movement I was beating this drum at ALA annual last month - there’s a wide gulf between the Newbery and the Printz but not enough effort to discern and promote books in that gap.
Thank you so much to @kalynnbayron.bsky.social for this amazing interview! @yalsa.bsky.social #TheHub

Librarian lunch at ALA Annual!
It was awesome running into you there!
Missouri school librarians are grabbing dinner tonight if you want to join.
Since we’re all at different places with reimagining Dewey in the library profession, can we at least all commit to making the call number for any book about the Loch Ness Monster 350?
Really enjoyed doing this interview with Ashley Hope Pérez for @yalsa.bsky.social !

My favorite thing I heard (so far) today:
A fourth grader warning one of her classmates not to use Sphero Indi on our rainbow carpet because it’ll try to read the carpet as instructions. That was one of our “you learn it the hard way” lessons in third grade!
In case you were wondering, “distraught” is still too strong an adjective to describe salmon viewing.
Only 3% of the way into Angela Cervantes’ The Cursed Moon and I’ve already cried roughly six times. I can think of SO many kids who NEED this book!
I'm taking over a high school library for a retiring colleague next year, and a DnD club was pretty high on my list of ideas! There's already a pretty robust improv troupe there, so we could probably get some great campaigns going!
