Excerpt from This Broken World. — Hubert wakes up in Lhant. Normally this is…well, normal. It’s his hometown, after all, and the place he’s recently been spending the majority of his time. The problem is that (first) prior to waking up in Lhant he had been exploring the area surrounding the Snowshroud Ruins with his team because (second) there had been what Pascal had termed an “exotic eleth event” that needed investigating, with one result being the land breaking away beneath his feet and him descending into darkness, both literally and figuratively. Plus, usually Hubert wakes up in his own bedroom, rather than on Lord Windegarde.
