July 17th 2025 Indivisible Bainbridge is sponsoring TWO EVENTS on July 17th to honor John Lewis! It has been 5 years since the loss of John Lewis, a remarkable, nonviolent, civil rights leader! Now more than ever, we need to follow his example, as civil rights are being stripped away, rule of law ignored, and services to every day Americans defunded! FOOD BANKS have lost federal funding and farmers have lost federal subsidies to donate fresh produce to FOOD BANKS, at the same time as jobs have been cut. Our FIRST EVENT is a FOOD DRIVE for Helpline House. Our SECOND EVENT is GOOD TROUBLE as we “Fill the PATH” with MESSAGES of the Country we envision! Please Join Us!

“Once you decide that a single vulnerable minority can be sacrificed, you’re operating within a fascist logic,” they said. “That means there might be a second one you’re willing to sacrifice and a third, a fourth. Then what happens?”

NEW: A searing editorial in the The Kyiv Independent.
“It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up.
“A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky.”

Tomorrow, February 28, let’s disrupt the status quo by spending ONLY at businesses that uplift our communities.
That means:
🚫 No gas from corporate giants
🚫 No fast food chains
🚫 No big-box retailers (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.)
The People's Union USA, a grassroots group, is calling on Americans to join a national boycott by not shopping for 24 hours on Friday.
lol the trolling that is going to be diabolical (please continue)
Update: The White House is already backing down on this. Keep calling your reps. Keep pressuring them.
Along with your reps, the white house phone number is (202) 456-1111.

screencap from Disney's Robin Hood. Robin is dressed as a beggar and lifts his hat to reveal himself to some kids, he says: Keep your chin up. Someday there'll be happiness again.

This is a five-alarm fire!
Musk is destroying much of what makes us strong: trust, clean air & water, health & science, transportation & food safety, and much more.
Join us on SATURDAY at 10am at U Village!

A screenshot that reads: "Life under autocracy can be terrifying, as it already is in the United States for immigrants and trans people. But those of us with experience can tell you that most of the time, for most people, it’s not frightening. It is stultifying. It’s boring. It feels like trying to see and breathe under water — because you are submerged in bad ideas, being discussed badly, being reflected in bad journalism and, eventually, in bad literature and bad movies."
I just keep thinking about this line from @mashagessen.bsky.social's recent piece in the @nytimes.com.
