A highly detailed photo of a field mouse snuggled up asleep inside a purple and yellow flower.
I just found out that tiny little field mice climb into flowers like tulips and take little naps in them like hammocks and I feel like this information is too important for me not to share with anyone. 🥹

No copies have been sold in quite a while, so the algorithms have been cranking the supposed price up to seven hundred dollars or more.
... Am I allowed to mention the existence of interlibrary loans, and of the site e-hentai?

uBlock Origin Lite may not be as good as the full original, but it (and uBlockDNS) does turn at least some of the pages that are unusably cluttered with ads into fairly mundane browsing.

Guessing you don't want any Firefox clones; Lynx would be silly; TOR too specialized... Chromium instead of Chrome, perhaps? (It's the one I use when I need to do any non-Firefox browsing.)

If you're planning on chucking Firefox anyway, maybe toss your issues at an LLM to see if any of its suggestions might fix things, since 'making it worse' isn't a worry? Eg, browser.low_commit_space_threshold_percent , widget.wayland.fractional-scale.enabled , and layers.acceleration.disabled

The Tree on the Corner - Gator Days
Characters
August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.
Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends. August's son.
Panel 1
Gustopher and his dad are taking a walk when Gustopher notices a tree trunk on the corner where a big tree used to be. He stares and it for a moment and contemplates the fact that it's gone.
Panel 2
Gustopher goes to his dad who is preoccupied with something on his phone. He asks about the tree.
Gustopher: Why did they cut down the tree on the corner?
August keeps his eyes on his phone but responds to Gustopher.
August: It was rotting and a safety hazard.
Panel 3
Gustopher looks back at the stump. He understands the reason why it would need to be cut down but he liked the tree.
Gustopher: I guess that's good. Is it weird that it makes me feel sad?
August senses the sadness and Gustopher's voice and puts down his phone. He looks at the stump as well.
Panel 4
August puts his hand on Gustopher's shoulder.
August: That's not weird. It makes me feel sad too.
The two of them take a moment a moment to process the emotion. It's not severe or intense but it's still there.

I'm within 20km or so of the border; used to occasionally cross it for good shopping deals or a movie or such; and currently find it unlikely I'll do so again for the rest of my life. (And that's without even assuming that an Unfriendly Singularity will kill us all within a decade.)

My ICQ UIN is 7231680. That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you.

I remember back in the day, finding *any* NSFW content catering to a niche was rare and valuable, no matter what other details were attached, and so I shrugged at and enjoyed a lot of iffy stories, images, etc. Now, with so many dedicated galleries, I've also gotten a lot more discerning about such.

One of the reasons you should never press "Yes: Round up for [charity]" or put money in a chain store's charity box is that their accountants use those figures to calculate how much discretionary cash is loose in a neighborhood and next quarter raise prices to suck it all up for the corporation.

Anabuki Commercial WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES
YouTube video by SUPACARIBOO
Sparse? A quick search of the usual places turns up nearly a hundred images; if you want sparse, how about, oh, the Anabukin-chan gang ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oEh... ), of which I've only ever found a single fan-pic.

I'll admit that I've poked at a few LLMs, seeing whether I could get around the filters. The most successful trick was starting asking for litcrit analysis, then swerving into the most bizarre content that they'd never have thought to train out: transformation into body-parts, or weirder. Silly fun.

I want to argue that there are rationalists and there are "rationalists", and not all of the former are anti-leftist dudebros; but there are so many other things to spend time on, like brainstorming a post-apocalyptic conversation on moral philosophy with ancient Egyptian deities, or whatnot.

These days, I use a GreaseMonkey script to imitate udm14.org , which tacks on Google's anti-AI parameter to search URIs. (As long as it keeps working.) About half my searches these days are DDG, but it misses a lot of useful results G still provides.
