Your donations go to keeping trans journalists out of poverty and informing our communities, which is now more important than ever.
This is a great starter pack of worker-owned media cooperatives!
Quote on the graphic reads "Criticism is an essential part of a functioning literary ecosystem, and it takes an enormous amount of time, effort, and care. We get the quality of criticism we pay for, and we should pay more for it" by Ed Yong. Illustration is by Colleen Tighe, showing a cartoon person in a green shirt that reads "The Prestige Mag" swiping a card; the card reader shows a big red X and a loaf of bread and two apples are nearby, implying that the person's card was declined while buying groceries. There’s no such thing as neutral technology.
Every tool encodes the values of the people who made it — their goals, their blind spots, their priorities.
When organizations adopt tools without asking whose values they’re importing, they take on risk they can’t see.

This is such a great post. One of the reasons we decided to unionize, even though we're 100% worker-owned, is we never want workers to be at the mercy of our good intentions. Teams change, and without labor protections built-in, something as ephemeral as "good company culture" can go by the wayside.
Our government has failed us. Charities are being SLAMMED. If you can swing it, your neighbors need you. Please consider giving to or volunteering for:
* Your local food bank
* A local church's food pantry
* Local woman's or LGBTQIA shelter
* Neighborhood Little Library converted to food pantry
