UCLA’s bench picked up the slack for a quarter without Lauren Betts.
But the All-America center came up big in the second half of the second-ranked Bruins' win over Illinois.

Videos on social media show Ricardo Aguayo Rodriguez struggling on the ground while a federal immigration agent keeps him in a headlock during an arrest in Melrose Park, IL.
“Por favor, amigo,” he pleads as he groans and yells in pain. He has been hospitalized.

Thank you for your kind words Mark. It’s hard to document all of the important stories and changes happening in Illinois and our country right now. I appreciate everything you do to bring insight to our profession.
Today:
-State Rep. and Congressional candidate Hoan Huynh on what happened last week, when he says a federal agent pointed a gun at him.
-Journalists have captured striking pictures of ICE and Border Patrol operations in Illinois. We'll talk about it.
It's all at 11:

Border patrol agents deployed tear gas on the 3700 block of North Kildare where residents say a landscape worker, a resident, and a woman on a bike were detained. Video from a resident.
Kim Fisher was arriving home from a Sunday morning workout with her husband when she saw them: at least three people in fatigues and masks coming out from her backyard, stepping around a chain link fence.
“And I said, ‘What the heck is that?’” said Fisher. “I did not say heck.”
Thanks! Always great to partner with you.

Today’s front page but not today’s outcome. Yesterday the Cubs beat the Padres 3-1. Today the Padres beat the Cubs 3-0. Tomorrow’s game will determine who moves on from this three-game wild-card series.
Seiya Suzuki and Carson Kelly became the fourth duo to hit back-to-back home runs in Cubs postseason history. The Cubs beat the Padres 3-1 in Game 1 of the wild-card series on Tuesday.

The President said kids were getting loaded up with “80 different shots.” Let’s just sit with that one for a moment.
I completely understand about the photo and licensing fee issues. And thank you for your kind words about my photo.
I’m glad you tracked Curtis down and interviewed him. He’s a thoughtful man who, despite all the hoopla about the photo, hopes that viewers focus on what’s happening at the Broadview ICE facility and its impact on families and communities.
Thanks for explaining, I was so confused when I saw Joshua’s photo attached to it.
The photo they chose to place on their story was from WAPO/Getty Image.
You’re very observant. When I took the photo of Curtis, I didn’t even see the sign on the ground. I just remember swinging my camera around and there he was, a quiet/solitary moment walking through gas in the middle of lots of conflict and noise.
Thank you
In my own words with insight from
@ckubzansky.bsky.social and
Curtis Evans.
Tribune photographer describes capturing a compelling image from protests outside Broadview's ICE facility
The Bears offense had a bit of everything in a win over Dallas. There were explosive plays, like Luther Burden’s 65-yard score from a flea flicker.
