I haven't finished Clair Obscur yet because of a similar problem. Just getting overwhelmed by the intensity.
I'd say I feel betrayed, but that's not the entirety of my feeling. It's just a grim reminder that it's not an equal deal they offer. They demand loyalty and sacrifice, and in exchange they'll cut you free the second you're no longer essential.
On Wednesday, I lost my job of 10 years, because the mid level managers had convinced the C-line that the AI adoption in our support department was solid enough that they could get rid of all of us.
I first hand saw how ineffective these AI models are at pretending to be useful support
It's such a lovely game. I still hear "Something to Protect" occasionally in my head, and "You're not alone" still brings me to tears.
Omg it's true why is it so weirdly tiring
You put in ten years at a company, and they just yeet you like it's nothing.
Fuck capitalism.
In a very real sense, we're keeping our history alive this way.
I think I'm a convert.
And the performance gains...
the desktop moves buttery-smooth and responds so fast
customization is great, even if there's a *lot*, especially if you start peeking under the hood. I am no linux efficiando, but so far I've limped along.
Cyberpunk runs so fucking good.
Final Fantasy 14 runs great.
Switched to CachyOS over the weekend, after hitting one last full screen "update to Windows 11" ad on a restart that annoyed me enough to consider a move. I had a weird sound crackling issue that I resolved by editing pipewire config files, but otherwise, it's been a really smooth experience.
As a straight, I approve ;)
you're a prophet
My Gamesir controller fucking slaps for half that price
*slides over a copy of Trails in the Sky*
So it's like, 60-80 hours, but then there's like 12 or 13 more games after it that are direct sequels that are ALSO 60-80 hours a piece
So you know, only like, conservatively speaking, 60x13 = 780~ hrs of content
that's reasonable, right?....right?
We didn't deserve this day.
Something has to change.
There's an argument to be made for trying to provoke a situation where it would seem "reasonable" to suspend elections.
It wouldn't be reasonable, of course, but that's rarely the point.
Take care of yourself. <3 We need sane voices in the days to come.
You don't need to stand at attention. I'd really encourage stepping away from the screens and your phone and go for a walk, or do something, anything. If you feel guilty about taking a moment for yourself, call your representatives and tell them that he has to go. Or write a letter!
We're in uncharted territory right now, as much as folks will pretend they know for certain.
There's a good argument to be made that this is just more bluster because that's Trump, but he's also backed into a corner of his own making at this point, so he's probably at his most dangerous right now.
It's so cool sitting at work getting more and more frustrated that no one seems to be taking this shit seriously.
I just want to scream. And keep screaming.
