I didn’t think we’d get to this point but here we are. Please support our fight for a fair contract by honoring our strike today.
The sooner we can reach an agreement on the contract, the sooner we can get back to doing journalism in this urgent time.

Our children deserve better, and we will not stop until they are protected.
You can't reform this.
Re: my last reposts
“Do not put money in the pocket of a woman who has sworn publicly to use it to disenfranchise vulnerable populations” is the smallest ask imaginable. It’s not oxygen, it’s not food. It’s television. You can do without. There are thousands of other shows for you to watch.
THANK YOU for the "grown-ass men" part! Nobody has more agency than white dudes. I keep seeing these assholes described as kids and it sounds very "their whole lives ahead of them"
Maybe I could find a sample of the audio book but there's no guarantee the sample would include a footnote.
Just started reading The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan. Could tell by page 3 / footnote 3 that I would love it! I want to recommend to my sister who usually consumes books in audio form so does anyone know how these footnotes get worked into the narration?
If I don't care about maintenance or integration with anything else, it might go faster (for a while)
This has definitely been my experience as a software engineer. Copilot CAN help me build my API or whatever. But I get best results when I keep the prompt focused.
Where "best results" = I/someone can read that code six months from now & debug it as needed.
"his party"? Absolutely not
How did Mills' entering the race prevent a better candidate from stepping up?
Steven Brust, probably also great, although tiny baby late 1990s me didn't dive into his books as much.
Freedom and Necessity by Emma Bull & Steven Brust. Mystery! Amnesia! Women disguising themselves as men! Magic! The Chartist Movement! (which I had never heard of) Karl Marx is in it as a peripheral character? Kind of a serious & simultaneously bonkers novel. Also, Emma Bull is fabulous.
How many pens can it hold? Better be a bunch. And now I also want it to fall onto its back once it's holding five or six.
Aaah, why didn't I put it on hold at the library when I first heard there was a new one coming? Now there are 14 holds on 2 copies of the ebook.
I hope that's what he means!
What do we think he means about "coarsening & degradation of American life"? More people say fuck in public vs 10 years ago so now we can't hold pedophiles & human traffickers accountable?
You don't need any more information to decide against finding DHS & ICE. Vote no. Actually represent us.
I'm your constituent & I've noticed you keep enabling everything the administration is doing. Maybe stop voting in favor of Trump's nominees? Maybe actually block funding for something? Words are cheap. DO SOMETHING
Just finished The Once and Future Queen by @paulalafferty.bsky.social
Really liked it! Totally forgot until literally the LAST PAGE that it's the first book in a trilogy! 😢
At least Tammy Duckworth & Danny Davis have functioning voice mail. (With thanks as always to @5calls.org for contact info & verbiage)
Another national crisis, another day of Dick Durbin and his lack of voice mail access outside of business hours. I'm sure my strongly-worded message on his website will be very effective.
Sign me up, I'll pay for someone who needs it
I got this one too, one for me & one for my sister-in-law, based on all the raves about it last year. I have high hopes & lots of scone & shortbread recipes ready.
Coward.
*on his website
The fact that you can't even leave him a voice mail outside of office hours is a pretty clear indication of how much he cares about his constituents. I just typed out message of his f-ing website.
Java would never
Just to clarify, this is me giving Roberts a HUGE benefit of the doubt & imagining for a millisecond that he's not just a racist.
I've never understood his position but it finally clicked for me: he's like the doctors 200 years ago who refused to wash their hands when Semmelweis told them to because "doctors are gentlemen & gentlemen's hands are clean." So they just kept freely spreading germs & killing people.
