I don’t frick with ChatGPT either but this did remind me to tell you that Voyage of the Dogs got a nice recommendation from a panelist during a non-human characters panel I attended at Worldcon a few weeks ago. (I woohooed & tried to tell them how to pronounce your name but was too far back, sorry!)

Aw thank you for remembering that story! It was called “When We Were Twelve”, published in a chapbook collection. I should probably put it up online so it’s easier to find.

I'm sure you've already tried the classic "let's see who can be quiet the longest!" or "the whispering game"... Seriously, my deepest sympathies, that situation is so hard.

Oh gods that's heartbreaking.

Scroll to "Was this page helpful?" Choose "No" and leave a comment telling them to restore the history of the trans Americans who helped start the LGBT+ rights movement in the US.

This is an interesting story that has at its heart a message about how no-fault divorce saves (abusive) men’s lives.

Anyway, landlord drove two hours (from where he lives) and is outside our house trying to fix this himself. They fixed our street outflow pipe a few months ago and we think they messed up the grading near the house. Don’t get me started on my worry about mold; our place was already too damp.

Tim is a goddamn hero for taking point and letting me go back to bed while he turned the pump on every 15 minutes (it’ll burn out if you leave it and theres not enough water).

Also was woken up at 3am last night by someone trying to take my door off the hinges with an electric drill. Had 911 dialed in and my thumb over the green call button when I heard @timpratt.org cough and realized that the sound was the new pump and our bathroom was flooding from the rain again.

Walked the block to BART in a raincoat and umbrella and am absolutely soaked. This is my first day back at work after the flu and I am already shaking with the effort and too cold & wet but also too hot from the layers.

This is fine. Water edition.

it has been said before but one problem is that when some people say 'the economy' they're talking about poor people affording food and housing, & when some other people say 'the economy' they're referring to a chart of how happy rich people are

I would like to hear an explanation about why this methodology is (super bad) as well?

The top two stories on Axios right now make kind of a funny juxtaposition. One is about how Johnson can’t avoid a shutdown without Democratic votes. Two is about how mad Dem reps are at their constituents for telling them to do something, when they’re in the minority and obviously can’t do anything.

We have a backyard and everything! And you love taking walks, Tim, and dogs love walks I hear! And our son isn’t even allergic to dogs! We need a dog! (She says, never having owned a dog in her life, yet fully aware our house is the opposite of puppy-proof.)

Such drama! (And a great shot!)

Someone on Facebook asked advice for a coverup tattoo for a Gaiman quote (and fair enough!) and a tattoo artist got chatting and said they do so many HP coverups these days too. That made me very happy. Then they said: "I donate the money from hp coverups to trans advocacy groups" and I got happier.

Yes… erasure is key

Like if white dudes were naturally superior then how come you gotta literally delete the competition

Recovering from the flu but still too weak to do much. Finally saw Challengers (not quite the poly drama I was lead to expect), and let the next random movie autoplay so ended up watching Blink Twice, which was pretty damn interesting & a 😚🤌 ending that did my soul good. Now it’s Bridal Nightmare…

Costco, which has come out saying it supports DEI, will make no changes to its existing programs, AND pays workers a minimum of $30/hour, is up 15% YTD.

Target, which announced it is ending all DEI programs and has a minimum wage of $15-$24/hour, is down over 4%.

Keep voting with your wallet.

Oh that’s interesting! I’m glad you got yours sorted! I pushed back at the time, was told it was probably a deductible, and since I was in a rush I let it go. Really wish I hadn’t! I have to get the pharmacist to sign this form and send in w/the original receipt, wait 30 days and it might not work 🤬

I am beyond furious. That is a LOT of money to me and to make it this hard to get the money back is unacceptable. Now I need to check every claim for the past year with this insurance. #Anthem #healthcare #prescriptions

A month ago I was charged $228 for a prescription. Finally got around to checking w/ insurance & they show the original claim reversed the same day (after I left CVS) & resubmitted to insurance for $55 8 days later. I have to fill out & mail in a paper form w/ my receipt for POSSIBLE reimbursement!
