I used a bike rack this weekend that exists because I complained about it not existing.
You can make things better, even just a little.

OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

This is not just a summary of his trade war conduct, but also his war conduct of destroy, lie, deny and walk away (not necessarily in that order)
Fantastic to have @zackpolanski.bsky.social visit Gipton and Harehills today to push for a Greener, brighter more hopeful alternative to the failed labour politics and the hatred of reform. We will stand up for our communities and give it the voice it deserves!!!

Some of the #Swifts are just across the English Channel from us now!
We are so looking forward to welcoming them back to #Lewes -especially at our special Swift Day on 9th May!
Beautiful!
A duck sitting in short grassy vegetation with one duckling between her and the camera, and five ducklings in a row behind her - some can only be seen by the top of their fuzzy heads. They look just a few days old
Lovely sight along Wykebeck on this morning's dog walk
The Israeli army struck civilians in the Lebanese city of Mayfadoun.
And then, the Israelis double-tapped the medics who arrived onto the scene.
And then, they triple-tapped the next wave of medics.
And then, they did it one more time for good measure.
What should have happened: the REIT paid no tax but the Tice companies holding shares in the REIT paid £98k tax on the dividends they received. What actually happened: none of the companies paid any tax.
Our new report: Richard Tice signed accounts wrongly claiming £98,000 of tax exemptions
A 🧵 with the evidence:
This is a story about how your phone makes you crazy when it starts to replace normal social relationships
The BBC has been a good example of this just this week. Repeatedly headlining their undercover investigation into people seeking asylum. It seemed very deliberate in its framing and lack of information on numbers to make a tiny issue seem like an immense problem
We talk a lot about keeping dogs on lead, especially at this time of year when there are lambs in the fields and our ground nesting birds are settled on nests. We produced a film a couple of years ago with tips for enjoying the Dales with dogs 👇

Another great part of my job is the people I meet. Recently it was Artist and Art Psychotherapist Thamina Begum, and tonight I went to the opening of her exhibition - complete with edible installation! Fantastic exhibition absolutely rooted in the local community exploring identity and belonging
A flyer with a dark purple background with a picture of a stick person using a zebra crossing and the University of Leeds logo. The text reads "research participants wanted: autistic children aged 11-13 and their parents"

He's really going for it this week; his car was in a disabled spot during a Shetland visit this week, then his minders manhandled the older disabled man who who complained about being prevented from parking in the spot he needed.
This is one of my favourite parts of my job; working with a group of researchers to support them to explore their own and other disciplines through different lenses and start creating new interdisciplinary collaborations
BBCs coverage isn't just misleading, it is inflammatory. It has predictably been latched onto by the far right and others, including this government, to call for even more restrictions on those seeking asylum. Along with others, I explain here how wrong it is 👇

Side view of a Holly Blue butterfly sitting on - you guessed it, a Holly leaf! The iridescent bue of the top of one of the wings, with black/dark grey edging is visible, as is the white underside with black dots on the other wing
View from above of a Holly Blue butterfly resting on a Holly leaf. From above a small nick in one of the bottom wings is visible. It doesn't seem to have slowed this dancing butterfly at all!
First Holly Blue of the season just spotted dancing and taking a breather in the garden

We need to see the slices (and pls share the recipe she used!)
This reporting from BBC stokes division, racism and homophobia, and fails to engage with that reality faced by most LGBTQIA+ individuals. I will be making a formal complaint and hope many others will as well

Not just focusing on the economic benefits , but all the other benefits, such as friendship, new views on the world, different ways of thinking. The wonderful diversity we experience and benefit from when people choose to make the UK home
Exactly this.
Let's have an undercover sting on Mone who got vast amounts of public £, or Tice who recently hasn't paid £100k in tax.
The BBC do seem to love punching down with their reporting.
(At least there wasnt one of their ads telling us about why they are so trusted running straight after)
Is that the Torygraph hallucinating imaginary people again?

Working away in Belfast and just spotted ~20 swallows feeding above the river I'm staying next to. Think they may just have arrived as we saw none yesterday.
Now super excited to see if they've arrived at home, and in anticipation of #Swifts at end of month #UKBirds #Birds

You are in for a treat, I was lucky and got the books from my Dad as soon as he finished reading one.
Was thinking recently I'd like to re-read them and experience them 30+ years on
We're getting people in Gipton and Harehills active one bike at a time!
Working with The Big Bike Fix we've been taking used bikes, giving them a bit of TLC and putting them back into the hands of people ready to put them to use!
...and the UK is currently arresting pensioners for protesting THIS!
Shame on you Starmer!!!
