3rd and 4th grade yep. PACKS OF TODDLERS. Spit slobber pinchy fingers and dirty diapers. Pretty sure most of the world still works this way. Big sister takes care of entire housing project/ neighborhood, parents work/ party . If Nixon hadn't vetoed universal childcare the 70s wouldn't be the same

Directions ahead of time sounds so organzied! I think I mostly just got the address for the show and a phone number or two. Then we would try and call from a pay phone when we got to town and it wasn't long distance but a lot of times no one would answer. Remember liberated calling cards? lol

On my first few tours not only did we not have cell phones. No one had a credit card - debit cards didn't exist - I'm not sure if ATM cards did but it wouldn't matter we had no money. We never had more than gas money to get to the first show. I didn't even bring my ID on tour until I was 21.

Well I mean when dad was 17 he was married with his first kid so China probably seemed like no big deal? He also wrecked 5 cars before he turned 17. So yeah it all made sense.

Pretty sure I went to go see The Dicks the night before the SATs and thus did not get adequate if any sleep?

Mine were awful but it didn't matter at all. I also don't support the existence of elite universities. College should be free and accessible to anyone who wants to learn.

I know this is all absurd but how can anyone believe he actually cares about anti-semitism?!

Back in ’64 George Harrison found a pic in which he scowled a V-sign with both hands – and had it printed life-size for his door and also as his year’s Christmas card. Plus it was a movie still and part of a Beatles album in France – and no one noticed the V-signs. Merry Xmas, George – and everyone!

I agree - but given that there are still laws I think definitions matter.

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Yeah but since there is such a thing as an illegal protest - what makes it illegal? I think the legal definition matters as a way to subvert the looming threat of the decree and encourage resistance.

Is being against school policy what makes it illegal? I haven’t been closely following the Palestine solidarity student movement so I’m not sure exactly what has happened in the past year other than the continued leveraging of anti-Semitism” towards Pro-Palestine organizing. Is that a legal issue?

I know it’s dumb to try and be logical about these decrees but it seems to matter - for example if the institution DID permit a protest and that changed its legal status the decree would possibly have no real meaning? I’m uncertain.

What makes a campus protest an illegal protest? Is any protest that is unsanctioned or banned by the institution illegal? Like is it the same as “unpermitted” ?

My mom and I seemed to know Marianne Faithful was dying yesterday. Anyone else experiencing the psychic collapse of timespace “I’ve been having bad dreams” cue The GoBetweens Palm Sunday (On Board the S.S. Within) “wool in the hold / a blaze in the sky / the water so black/ you could make a shroud”.
