to last year's but the perfect 06:00 start compared to the very late 11:37 one gave the runners a little better odds. But considering there was a CCW start and loop 2 and rain and results aren't worse than last year, im doubtful the course changes made things noticeably harder.

The first half of the course is the same as last year, and its safe to assume the last stretch after the fire tower is the same for the 15th year in a row. Assuming this and looking at the runner's first two loop times it seems like this course is about equal difficulty... (7/8)

Because of their positions, if spectacle is back in, little hell is probably out again, and it would make sense for ratjaw to now be climbed in CW loops again, but hard to say for sure. There's hardly anything to go on but from what I've found it really seems like... (6/8)

The little we know for 2026.
For the first time EVER! Loop 1 is counter clockwise! Loop two is as well. Jared Beasley joked that testicle spectacle would be a slip n' slide on loop 3. spectacle hasn't been in the course since 2018. Little Hell replaced it in 2019 (5/8)

Barkley history: This the 40th running of the Barkley Marathons over 42 years. In 2000 the park was closed for budget reasons and in 2020 it was closed because of the pandemic. #BM100

I must have dozed off or something, but somehow I missed Max King dropping a couple hours ago, after making it to book 4 on loop 3. Two runners remain on loop 3; 1 remains on loop 1. #BM100

I literally only use BlueSky during #BM100 season. In a few days I’ll vanish for another year

It was less than two hours ago that Damian Hall started loop 3 barefoot to prevent his shoes from getting soaked in the stream. Max King covered his feet in plastic bags. Barkley runners evolve. #BM100

26:40 into the race the 3 runners still on loop 2 are over the time limit and will be tapped out when they return to camp. The 5 runners still on loop 1 are now also over the time limit for loop 2. The key to success at the Barkley is to go faster than one mile per hour. #BM100
