My brother in Christ what do you think a "level playing field" is

Yeah I gotta say if it turns out *this* is the thing that bothers us, rather than, say, what is done to the image of Christ found in the poor and dispossessed themselves, then all those Calvinist warnings about idolatry basically seem correct to me.
A new NBC News Decision Desk poll shows that 75% of all Democrats sympathize more with Palestinians than with Israelis.
It also shows that 74% of all of Gen Z, total, sympathizes more with Palestinians than with the Israelis.
A lot of people are still in the denial about how much the median Democratic voter, the median Democratic volunteer, and the median Democratic activist has shifted on a variety of issues. Well here's the handpicked candidate of Chuck Schumer being booed, about Gaza, at the Dem convention.
damn these chapo bernie piker bros betraying the party

Magyar has already invited Netanyahu 🙃
EU foreign ministers will once again discuss imposing trade sanctions onto Israel when they convene next week, while also waiting for Hungary’s new foreign policy to take shape.
The states of Belgium, Ireland, Malta, Slovenia, and Spain have advocated for sanctions in past meetings.
Think about this: The leader of the Senate Democrats just voted against 85% of his caucus all to keep sending bulldozers to Israel, so it can continue to demolish Palestinian and Lebanese people's homes.
i think that half the people who voted for it only did so bc they knew it wouldn't pass, and even if they had 60 senators, they would find 11 rotating villains
this statement elides that not in that >80% is the senate minority leader. makes one question the caucus's values that they want schumer to stay in charge!

So, basically, right wing populism except that instead of blaming immigrants for every problem in society, we just blame corporations instead.
Liberals will be like “oh, you want to blame the people actually responsible for problems in society? That pales in effectiveness to my strategy, blaming whoever Republicans tell us to” and then not win elections
If one or both of the JRDs tomorrow reach 35 votes, that'll be a massive step in the right direction. For comparison, last time JRDs to block bombs to Israel came up, we reached a record 27 Democratic votes. That was over half of the caucus and well before this war of aggression on Iran.
The 27:
twitter's down again
Seeing this headline with "former pence advisor" and remembering that it was "former DHS official" yesterday, then noticing that the post from yesterday was deleted.
I guess she needed more distance from maga.
Seems like maybe some powerful people want this Republican to win in a D+8. Gosh.
One of the other things that dies this week, with Orbán's loss and Trump's fit at the pope, is the perception of right-wing politics as the continuation of a successful 80s anticommunist revolution, when the pope, Reagan, and dissidents like Orbán were often depicted as a coherent ideological bloc
Čekám, kdy Čína zahájí blokádu lodí, které proplují US blokádou lodí, které proplují íránskou blokádou.
“Fidesz lost power so democratic backsliding isn’t really that much of a thing” is the worst, most complacent take possible. The minimalist definition of democracy as a system in which parties lose elections is a great place to start, but that’s all it is.

Incredibly funny to watch the right wing going Oh so just because I love money and hate poor people I'm a bad Christian according to "the pope"???
Our long national nightmare of effective cancer treatment is coming to an end.
"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope." Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war. A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic. Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope. https://www.vatican.va/archive/cod-iuris-canonici/eng/documents/cic_lib3-cann747-755_en.html"
first in my bloodline to see someone get excommunicated by a community note
