Y’all I hate time change, it feels like I’m watching the sunset while I eat my late lunch

Unfortunately I do love using parentheses to share my bonus thoughts in every sentence

A glimpse into the ADHD experience:

Yesterday I was so productive that I completed the workload of at least 3 people in 5 hours. And today, the only thing I’ve done so far is accidentally brew my coffee onto the floor.

BOTH OF THOSE HUMANS LIVE INSIDE ME. And I never know which version I get.🙃

The absolute emotional turmoil I go through in this job should be studied.

Today, I’m letting the act of gentle progress feel like enough. Breaks are productive, and I do not owe anyone an instant reply. There’s a world beyond my to-do list, and I get the opportunity to live in it. 🩵

If you teach undergraduate Instrumental Analysis in chemistry programs of study for Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 - we would love to work with you to collect survey data from your enrolled students! Please message me if you’re willing to help by sending your students a pre/post survey.

Having an educational experience / career you’re proud of doesn’t mean you haven’t been forced to mask your way through it. 😬 Most academic spaces were, unfortunately, not intentionally designed with us in mind.

Did not open my laptop for 10 business days (much needed). Seriously considering deleting all my unread email and starting fresh lol. So, if you need me, maybe email me again? 🙃

Yes! But the woman who gave the talk was Dr. Audrey Cameron - she developed the British Sign Language Glossary for chemistry/STEM!

I really wish you could put “out of office” images on Teams because -

Can you imagine if you tried to Teams chat me and got this image as a response?

PHOTO DROP from the 2025 CERP GRC!

I feel so excited for what’s to come in our field. I’m intellectually overwhelmed in the best way possible, and I’m so happy I got to connect again with #CER friends and meet so many new people this year. My heart is absolutely full.

Trump officials take steps toward a radically different NSF Efforts to shrink staff, budget, and focus have alarmed members of Congress

Another scoop from Jeff Mervis (@policyhound.bsky.social): NSF's ~1400 grant terminations have disproportionately affected PIs from groups underrepresented in science: women, racial & ethnic minorities, & those with disabilities. 1/3

NSF slashes number of ‘rotators’ and well-paid managers as part of restructuring Smaller future budgets will require fewer people, NSF official tells staff

NSF officials announced they are essentially abandoning the use of “rotators”— scientists on leave from academic positions who help the agency choose the best research to fund. NSF also plans to reduce the number of administrators classified as senior executive service employees. scim.ag/3EKnxmc
