graph showing combined departures from SFO for AS/VX/HA. The numbers continue to shrink, having never fully recovered from the COVID hit.
Alaska Airlines bought Virgin America, in large part, for the SFO hub. In the years since, however, the carrier scaled back significantly, Down from ~2600 in May 2019 to ~1700 today.

I guess someone will eventually learn about causation v corelation. Doesn't seem this guy is the one.
Appreciate the insights.
The other factor worth noting is the route comes with strong seasonal targeting. And even with questionable demand into the US lately, that season is holding strong.

Some excellent insights here on the new QF LAS service.

[avgeek] by far the most unique flight on my logbook was this 41 y/o (at the time in 2016) fokker f28 of the argentinian air force. it was a scheduled flight operated by their LADE division. we were the only passengers and the crew even let us spend part of the flight in the flight deck [/avgeek]
DLD 578: On the Mend
When will the aviation world really heal from the mess in the Middle East? Plus a CEO is out in India, as are two more airports for Southwest, while bus options expand in Canada.
Am I going out of my way this evening to ride the Dallas M-Line? Yes, I am.
An easy connection from DART with a fare-free ride to Uptown. Lucked out with a ride on the system’s oldest vehicle from 1909, originally from Porto, Portugal.
Washingtonians love to moan about the long walk from the Dulles Metro station to the terminal.
But is it that long of a walk? I flew to London to compare.

My huge yoshi plush wearing flight safety equipment with graham crackers and jack daniels
Flight attendants had to move my giant yoshi plush to an empty seat in the back because it was taking too much room in the ceiling compartment, look a what they did to him 😭😭
Friday flight! (one of my favourite plane photos I have ever taken)
Nice airport too.
Stunning livery (will be even better with engines 😂). I am a sucker for anything not Eurowhite.
DLD 577: Nowhere to Go
How do you replace 100,000+ seats daily that just disappeared from the global aviation network? Things are definitely a mess.
Quite the northern route on today's crossing, VHF the entire way!
DLD 576: What’s the limit?
How much is too much change? How much is too much risk? How much is too many flights? We'll likely never know, but many seem to be trying to find out right now.
If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
DLD 575: On Again, Off Again
Are the policy changes real? Can anyone or anything be trusted anymore? And a 20+ year throwback reference at the end, just for fun.
