I'm teaching "Military Coups and Dictatorships in Latin America" this semester. The second half focuses on U.S. intervention, with readings on the CIA, Guatemala in 1954, Chile 1973, and Operation Condor. It's the only way to get students to grasp what the U.S. has done to the region.

The reason we write things is to express some sort of meaning, to pass along important information, to convey a human emotion or sensation.
