My piece ILDIO is on BBC Radio 3’s New Music Show tonight (10:30pm–12:30am)!
Performed by Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, it’s about surrender, uncertainty, and finding clarity through sound.
This is not comfort listening, so strap in!

I’m used to performers living rent-free in my head, but last night things escalated… I had a dream where Richard Craig was piloting a roofless, sideless plane, with me aboard. We hit turbulence and had to fly upside down. No seatbelts. Just me and a bunch of dream-people clinging on for dear life.
Arguably the most sacred number eh
Lovely weekend in Köln just gone. I was fortunate to hear Hannah Weirich perform my piece ‘Ffarwel i Uli’ at WDR. Plus, a productive rehearsal with @CarlRosman on ‘Skyppan,’ a new 35-minute solo piece for basset clarinet (yes, I’m THAT mad!). And how about that wonderful weather? 🍦🌞 #ComposerLife

"Dedicated 'to Hannah, with love,' Ffarwel i Uli is more than an elegy; it is a heartfelt embrace, a tribute to Uli’s spark, and a reminder to cherish the light he left behind."

That ‘I just finished a piece’ feeling ☺️
Maybe ;)
But I seriously miss the rolling hills! And the colours.
You can take the girl out of Wales, but you can’t take the Wales out of the girl!
Started teaching at Huddersfield Uni today. It was a good experience helping undergrads with their solo piano compositions. I appreciated the variety and different approaches to learning, and I really enjoyed it! #UniversityofHuddersfield #Teaching
Listen to it intently

Reporting this. If it’s meant to be funny, I’m sorry but, seriously!?
Pretty much!
He set many a boundary to work within. Without these boundaries (or ‘limitations’), his music would just be sound, after sound, after…
F the ableism. Autism is the absolute opposite of an ‘excuse’. Autistic people are much more likely to be misunderstood and mistreated than they are to receive handouts. F off ableist world. We do everything we can to exist peacefully within your stifling boundaries.
And how exactly can (sound) be ‘organised’ if it has no boundaries?

Practice for taking over the world, no? He will continue putting the time in, while the rest of us fanny about trying to discern his motives.
Grr. Not a pizza hut.
Music with no boundaries is more-commonly referred to as ‘noise’, no?
If I tie my shoes tight enough for my feet to feel secure, I cut off the blood-flow and eventually break my laces. Does anyone else have this problem?
This morning, I delved into my allocation of scores from the LSO Panufnik applicants ahead of our panel meeting next week. It’s truly humbling to discover so many amazing pieces from composers I mostly hadn’t heard of until today. Thank you, world! 🌍🎶 #LSOPanufnik #ComposerDiscovery
