Am in the greatest city in the world for a few days here. Had to hit the Portuguese Bakery deli for lunch; 100% worth the trip to Beverley. Where are you animals congregating for game 3 tomorrow?

Waterton. You rule.
It is nowhere near done in entirety but I got an editor to look at the first page of my novel today and she didn't stop reading after the first sentence (she read the whole thing!) because of some screw up so I'll take that as a victory.
This is how to Canada. I'm even wearing plaid!
Hellz yes! ๐ค
Reviewing soil classification today and I just remembered Podzolic soils exist (under conifer forests in the Shield and the coasts and I live in Lethbridge so...I forgot). I am therefore now calling Vasili Podkolzin 'Pine' (because I like pine trees).
Since everything else is stupid; nature never fails. I had a fantastic walk in the river valley today. -20 and fresh snow makes for great tracks and the birds were happy to see me. Count the chickadees in the 2nd picture; they were so close it was almost disarming.
This is friggin wild.
I realize I am a massive minority here but Wasatch is badass. HC is such a cop out, Mammoth is another generic animal name. Don't know what a Wasatch is? Google it and find out. More team names should be based on local geography, lore, history etc. It rules and you all are wrong. Read a book.
Hi stranger! That Writers Tears Tequila cask you and Darcy got into looks legit. After the 3 Scotch and 2 bourbon bottles I have at the ready.
Big accomplishment for me tonight:
The writers group I've joined is doing an anthology of short stories and I got my contribution done tonight. No reveals out of respect for everyone but I'm pretty proud of myself.
I check in on here and it's mostly all how much AI sucks. I agree Bluesky, I agree. My job cannot be replaced by it but I still don't like it.
We got to see it in the theatre last night. Rhiannon was so excited.
Movie recommendation:
'To Catch a Killer' on Netflix. The cinematography is great for the genre and Shaeline Woodley is awesome but it is disjointed in figuring out what exactly it is. Good, fun thriller though and I quite enjoyed it. It is VERY graphic and viewer discretion is advised.

Kovalenko was short lived but his and Mironov's LA adventure is timeless..Ulanov was a cult hero no doubt. I am hoping Podz and soon Berezkin can enjoy some of that.
Oh dang.

Trading Evan Bouchard would be akin to "Taking dinosaurs off this island would be the worst idea in the long, sad history of bad ideas. And, uh, I'm going to be here when you learn that".

I always vote for the deep south. Waterton, Writing-on-Stone, Lethbridge etc.

I can't stand Beavis.
We did the Christmas Bird Count today and saw a northern shrike hunting. That was a first and made our day. Butcher Birds are such badass little guys.
