A book in my shelf. It's interesting that from a floating-point perspective, addition is harder than multiplication because figuring out the magnitude is more difficult than addition, so requires more logic.

Awaken is a weird spell. One time my party awakened a bird and asked it some questions, then tried to bring it back to its mate. I then posed that the creature would never be able to bond with its mate on any meaningful level because their intelligence differences were too vast.

I ran a one-shot with that worked out great. The festival had great activities and plot hooks, and the dungeon was just enough to wrap up in a 5 hour session. Definitely worth the purchase!

Definitely check out Between Two Cairns and the guests/feed curated by Yochai. I've also enjoyed running Vaults of Vaarn, a science fantasy TTRPG.

Interesting ideas. In my experience it's been harder to design encounters that are hostile _to the players_ instead of just _hostile_, but that difference can lead to more dynamic gameplay.
