Phantom, my very scared, adopted mini horse actually let me scratch her chin while she was loose in the paddock! She is wary but very well behaved when she is caught, but this is the first time in the five weeks I've had her that she let me scratch her when she was loose! Huge progress!

I got a fly mask on Misty today!!! Her giant troll doll forelock bare fit through the opening. (Phantom still has a while before I even try.)

I gave Misty a Jolly ball yesterday. She liked it! Of course I missed it when she kicked it like a soccer ball. Added points were that Ruckus was playing with it later.

I went to the No Kings protest in Thousand Oaks with Twinkle Werber and her sister Michele. It was a very good turn-out, with at least 2000 people. As usual, the signs did not disappoint.

A Hummingbird decided to nest on a wire to the right of my front door. I noticed it today, and realized that she flies away every time the door opens. So I will go into the house through the back for a month.
She is on the blob, you can see her tail. The nest and bird are the size of a quarter.

This is what Misty thinks of 90 degree heat in March. I approve of this message.

The girls may be full-on rescue ragamuffins, but they have already figured out that the new place has stall fans and when it is 90 degrees in March, that's where they should hang out!

All of my reactive dog training -thanks Murray and Ruckus- finally paid off. Not financially of course, but after two weeks of patience and frustration, Phantom to let me catch and groom her. She still looks like a ragamuffin, but it's a start. The birds will love the hair for their nests.

They are going to be so disappointed if it doesn't rain again and all the nice 'pasture' grass dries up and the backyard goes back to dirt.

Killing a Dictator Isn’t a Strategy The Iranian regime has killed Americans and fueled chaos across the Middle East for decades. But if the United States is going to war, the American people deserve a clear objective and a plan for what

Iran’s regime has armed terrorists, killed Americans, and fueled wars across the Middle East.

But killing a dictator is not the same thing as having a strategy.

Trump is shifting goals in real time. That’s dangerous when American lives are on the line.

Pen and the others met the new girls today and so far all is going well. Of course Pen is thinking, "why are those horses so small?" And the minis are thinking, "Why are those dogs so big?"

So I did a thing. Meet Misty and she-needs-a-new-name Xena. They were part if a hoarding situation, and I got them from a rescue who helped them. Misty is almost friendly, and Xena is just scared. I give them a few weeks before they are spoiled rotten.

Just before I left for the weekend the Danes had enough of the rain and ripped up one of their beds. I patched it, knowing it wouldn't last long, and ordered a 'jumbo' replacement. This is what came.Tuff thinks I bought it for him and claimed it. I have different ideas of what is a jumbo dog bed.
