A final check including tips and PTO balance will be delivered to your home address by midnight. let's read that again: the Montclair store has closed you have been laid off this weekend, Highwire Workers Union members read a letter at the bargaining table and in stores with demands in response to the company habitually ignoring reports of harassment, transphobia, favoritism, and retaliation. the Union requested actions be taken to these demands by 5 PM on Monday, March 2nd. what happened instead? Montclair employees were sent an e-mail at 5 PM on March 2nd that the store has been closed and that they have been laid off. the claim is that they "do not have a manager for the store," despite a company history of running stores without a manager (San Pablo location) and the manager-on-duty already having been scheduled through 'til next week. demand that laid off baristas be reinstated into the open positions at other cafes and for a reopening of Montclair Highwire! e -mail CEO Jeff Weinstein jeff@highwirecoffee.com and help us support our coworkers!
