βMankind is not to be trusted with hoards of gold. It poisons him.
No creature is safe in a world in which any one of mankind has limitless gold. That way lies only chaos. Dragons keep that chaos at bay."
- The Poisoned King by Katherine Rundell
"Do you know why dragons hoard gold?"
They waited, unspeaking. The dragon's face convulsed, and then he spoke again. "It is not merely that we love gold, though we do love it, yesβ-its shine, its cold weight. It is that dragons are old enough to have seen the world, and seen mankind. 1/2

There are so many of us, creatives trying to make it through Q4, neurodivergent artists expending extra effort to appease the algorithms while protecting every feeble spark of inspiration. Know you are not alone if you feel it too.
My ghost of Christmas present is a heavy weight, a dulling gray, sapping any energy I had stored up for winter.
I know Iβm not the only one, whose everyday depression transforms into the even more potent seasonal kind, as the days grow cold and short.
Painting of El Capitan, Yosemite, CA. The mountain stands in the distance, with a river flowing toward the viewer, surrounded by trees in rich autumn hues. Sunlight warms the face of the mountain and filters through the leaves of the tallest trees.

Small Businesses Saturday is coming, and I always wish I had planned, painted more, and posted more.
But with this time of year, the haunting seasonal depression arrives along with the holiday decor.
Hi, Iβm Anna Reed, an artist living in Memphis, TN.
My latest work focuses on our National Parks.

No one should starve on a planet with more than enough food to feed us all.
Sitting in the collective grief this Friday. There is still a crowd that cheers as convicted criminals are freed and demands that innocents be jailed, tortured, and sent to their deaths.
Thinking of all the rangers and everyone who cares for our beautiful parks. ππΌπ€
Prints of my original paintings are available on my Etsy.

Original landscape art. In the distance, blue rolling hills beckon beyond a lush meadow, viewed below a canopy of trees and through an old, open farm gate.
Hi! Iβm new here.
I am an artist, living in Tennessee, in an old white farmhouse on a couple acres.
I love to paint landscapes, garden, hunt for vintage treasures, and read many, many books.
Trusting the algorithm to help me find a kind community of creatives, readers, and nature lovers. ππΌβ¨
