It should go without saying this limitation has wider reaching implications and it is NOT the last time it's relevant, but I found this a much more interesting thing to explore. Lucifer has no reason to care about his kingdom, he cares about his family, and his hellborns and that's about it. lol
When approaching Lucifer I wanted to lean into the Fallen Angel side of him. He wasn't a bad guy, he was a dreamer who fell in love and defied an unjust system. He isn't a tyrannical evil ruler, he's a cosmic being trapped in what is considered his greatest mistake. He was beautiful and prideful!
Also- while Lucifer is by all accounts "the devil" from "da bible"... that doesn't mean he is reaaally .. ✨THE DEVIL✨ in Hazbin Hotel. At least by my own personal definition. 👀 cuz I do feel like the concept of 'the devil' is... a bad guy lol

Fun fact: “I’ll fuckin’ spank you” was an improv from Keith 😂 I kept it because it killed me, but also because it felt like a natural grasp for a non threatening-threat. It’s an old school go-to scold. So I felt it worked in character!
