"I posit that the power of capital, not only as exercised in Palestine, but universally, ought to be gauged just as a little Gazan girl perceives the power of an F16 jet-fighter closing in on her home. Its highest degree of barbarity defines its strength."

understanding US conflicts and regime changes as: not decisions of individual administrations, but instead resulting from longstanding goals and long term planning from the Capital interests governing US policies -both foreign and domestic- makes everything less confusing/ surprising. still sad tho

The incomes of the landlords doubled. Wages barely kept pace with the price of food products, but the landlords’ incomes rose five times as high as the price of food products. The landowners and well-to-do peasant proprietors are growing steadily richer.
People talking about any socialist revolutionary: their utopian vision didn’t work out
Any socialist revolutionary writing: this is going to be very difficult and a very long and hard process and we will make many mistakes and the capitalists will be ruthless
Throwing Trump a lifeline

I’d rather be a tankie than a yankee
People are not bad, systems born out of ideologies that force or incentivize cruelty are bad. And systems can and have and are changing.
Discard hatred for humanity. looking at the world and going “people R bad” is braindead. Human’s are responsible for the best and the worst developments in the world. We have always come through dark times stronger. Humans caring for humans is a redeeming trait, and it makes us better.
While Iran targets military bases the US and Israel are targeting hospitals, schools, and anything else making civil society function. Fuck your nuanced “both sides are bad” opinions coming from the center of all that is rotten and evil on this earth
Organize!
still grappling with the rage I felt at a liberal whose response to a video of a Palestinian being burned alive in a hospital bed (circa Nov 2024) was in all sincerity to tell me we just had to vote blue and hope that in four more years the democratic party would have another Bernie Sanders
if you’re unable to see that a country which has been at war for it’s entire existence & has openly called for the downfall of Iran for over 20 years was always going to do this, you are the problem.
Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism and it is at the absolute core of US politics. Without being able to at least articulate support for anti-imperialist struggle, anything else a politician may do to convince you that they’re going to fix this system is completely worthless.

If power one holds is ultimately subservient to Fascist authority, has to concede to it/ negotiate with it - rather directly confront it - then it is not power that opposes Fascism. The power one holds under those circumstances is controlled opposition whether it is conscious of that role or not.
For that reason reformism, even when quite sincere, in practice becomes a weapon by means of which the bourgeoisie corrupt and weaken the workers. The experience of all countries shows that the workers who put their trust in the reformists are always fooled.
“The nationally hated, wildly unpopular governor who barely squeaked out a win last election even though she was running against a terrible and unpopular candidate [she literally won by like 400 votes] in a solid blue state holds all the cards.”
@socialismforall.bsky.social is it possible you can upload your readings to the apple podcast app so I can delete Spotify once and for all?
The U.S. currently has more prisoners and a more sophisticated system of concentration camps than Nazi Germany had on the eve of World War II in 1939
There will be free buses under socialism. But socialism is not when buses are free; it’s class warfare. If banks lose revenue from buses, & we still live in a dictatorship of Capital, the ruling class (who ZM endorsed) have no problem finding other avenues to make up for their loss at our expense.
Socialist policy pictured here:
the mayor can’t change the system is right, but he could challenge it. Seriously challenging it though, would mean an exit from and opposition to the democratic party.
Socialist policy is not when the government provides public services btw. What he’s building support for is the 100 year failing strategy of trying to reform a party that hates socialism.
He could endorse a mayoral candidate who hasn’t explicitly promised that taxes won’t be raised on the rich, one who’s not opposed to free buses, and maybe most importantly one that barely won the last gubernatorial race against a unpopular republican candidate.
Me every time I post, on line
can anyone explain how you can change the system from within a party foundationally built on upholding it
Every news outlet, pundit and analyst who tries to tell you that Epstein was a Russian intelligence operative instead of an Israeli one is just telling you they're a propagandist. View it as a big flashing sign that says "Never trust anything from this source ever again."
ice is killing americans and democrats are still voting for trump's nominees
