I couldn’t go two messages without receiving a personal attack or bizarre claim. No doubt they’d claim others wouldn’t listen to them either — but here, genuinely, I was telling them I would talk with them — and just, even more rage than before, yeeting out of there

I offered to buy a book to a bunch of people I was having an argument with on Twitter a while back — to have genuinely a calm conversation without making them feel like they were being judged — surely, if they were right, they would be fine with entertaining a discussion?

I feel like a lot of transphobia is little different to a conspiracy theory or cult — right down to a no doubt sincerer belief the more they fall into it, and a cutting off from their old networks somehow seen as persecution rather than something self-directed and self-sustaining

Immunity from such hate contagion? What’s possible comes from holding onto your beliefs not because others have them, but by actually thinking about them with open mind & generous heart. Because you make it your mission to ask -why- in life as an ongoing pursuit, of yourself & your actions above all

The fall of so many on the left to transphobia shows how easily people fall to the same ideologies and tactics as groups they would be otherwise be disgusted at, at how being made to feel like you have the Wrong opinion can warp someone into something monstrous in an attempt to defend their own ego

Transphobes are “this is more of a comment than a question”, incarnate.

Consuming their lives for nought but the pain of all involved. Such lack of humility to feel like you don’t understand a group of people, & jump to insisting the worst instead of realising that “not understanding” would be OK
