First sign of Boards of Canada since what, 13 years?
Looking forward to whatever they're cooking.

Not anyone, everything is a phase
The best way is to expose kids to the good stuff as well. They will find their way eventually.
Yeah it's crap from top to bottom.
Sadly that's true for lots of mass popular stuff.
IMO all collector cards are borderline scammy and gambling for kids.
The brain rot stuff is particularly low quality, so that comes on top.
But that phase will pass :)
Still seeing takes like "this technique renders at 500fps" in published graphics papers.
A good reason to scrap it.
Oh absolutely, don't get me started on this..
I hope we can skip the part were they come to power first :/
Congrats! That's great news!
Second day in a row, @domlaz.bsky.social is stalking my GPU asserts again, wondering about the nasty things I'm doing.
Maximally curated awesomeness
Peak ~2000 electronic music.
Play that today and people are blown away.
Great talk!
GDC talk went well.
Had some great conversations afterwards.
Nice, see you around then?
My copy of GPU Zen 4 was in the mail today. The physical book turned out really great!
Obviously I also have an idea who has something to do with it ;)
Just confused it with the Swordfish II.
Well played!
Too bad, but there will be other occasions!
Actually we have now the chance during GDC. I'm in SF the whole week, just let me know if you're around!
Super happy we had the chance to contribute 2 articles to this book, and even the amazing cover image.
Thanks for keep this legendary book series going!
Things have developed in a truly interesting way since then.
Little fun fact: it was only 3 years later when a kid in rural Germany assembled a 386 PC (33 MHz / 8 MB RAM) in his room with cheap spare parts, and connected it via Null-Modem to his main 486 PC in order to play #DOOM together with his friends in multiplayer.
I'll be at #GDC2026, talking about #DOOM rendering.
Hit me up if you see me around!

Happy 35 years from all of us at id Software!
Image representing id Software's 35th Anniversary. Featuring a bold hellfire red background, with the Doom Slayer from DOOM: The Dark Ages standing at the ready depicted in a solid single-colored black halftone treatment.
35 years of shareware, slipgates, and slaying.
Thank you to everyone who’s stepped into our worlds.
There was an NVIDIA talk about neural texture compression, which was quite his actually. But was in general mostly bullshit free.
For graphics in particular, we luckily have GPC in the Netherlands now (re @anteru.bsky.social, @jasper-bekkers.bsky.social )
Very well organized with great content, but naturally limited to the hardcore graphics/rendering niche.
As someone living and working in Frankfurt, I'd love to see GDC here.
Infrastructure is definitely there with several huge international trade fairs, strong game dev scene, etc.
However, I can see that transplanting a huge event to another continent seems like a major risk to just destroy it.
I'm bringing my bike even to places in walking distance. I feel naked without my bike.
