The Middle East is full of religious extremists who blindly revere evil men.
Oops! I meant *The United States* not The Middle East.

For cities applying for bike/ped money from the state, they have as good a chance of winning funding as a high school student does applying to Harvard.
And yet, legislators are focused on an *imaginary problem* rather than actually funding more bike infrastructure.

“This is all basically anathema to orthodox planning, which has inherited over a century of antagonism to the idea that the market can simply be allowed to function.”
It's not TACO, is TRAMP. Trump Retreats Amid Market Panic. If the markets resist panicking, he'll transfer further and further until all imagined harms have come to pass. The markets aren't twitchy enough for Trump. They should panic every time he speaks to Netanyahu.
One hopes images like this, when paired with the knowledge that everything we burn ends up in that tiny slice of gasses, would help contextualize why we need to move away from energy sources we set on fire.
One hopes. Climate communicators should make some hay of this.
This is an actual, observable, and sensible function. You don't have to point to demographic correlations and guess at what's happening. We need to tell the racists to STFU and start building better cities for everyone.
There is a crucial under-rated element of this story. Transit, cycling, and pedestrianization build social cohesion, not ethnic homogeneity. Walking and biking in my city, I interact with a beautiful array of people from all over the world.

Remember when Bill Clinton spoke to his AG for a few seconds privately, on the tarmac, and the US media, following the instructions of bad-faith wingnuts, made a huge multi-week scandal out of it?
This can’t be true. I’ve been told that supply doesn’t work. Developers and landlords in San Diego must be less greedy than in other places, like Los Angeles
Beautiful day to fill the 100,000th pothole of the year.
Cities always say they can't possibly do it. Paris just went ahead and did it. In ten years. #LiveableCities #ActiveTransportation

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
Pretty sure many Americans are saying the war will accelerate America's decline.
Uh, apparently, the real crime would be to let the Iranians kill more Iranian civilians than the US, so Trump is going to target Iranian civilians. 🙃
Would You Rather? Have your child ride to school in a: Protected Bike Lane People biking in a protected bike lane in a city Or Hi-Viz Vest kids in yellow vests in front of police officer

A beef Wellington is just a corn dog from a different socioeconomic background
Uh, except it didn't take a human's job. They're remote controlled. It took a driver off the road and it of bike lanes and crosswalks and replaced it with an electric R/C robot. I'm optimistic that if we fix the environment to not punish pedestrians these devices will simply cease to exist.
In the setting of declining vaccination rates post-2020 “for political reasons,” Bangladesh currently has a measles outbreak w/ >7.5K cases since March 15. In 2025 there were 125 cases total.
1/3 of those infected have been <9 months old, so not yet eligible for vaccination. 100 children have died.
It's funny, because I really wanted to make America great before MAGA came along. I wanted to axe swathes of the federal government before it was cool and get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse.
Prosecute ICE.
Abolish the DEA.
Shrink the DoD until it can be drowned in a bathtub.
The DEA does not employ anyone with medical credentials. It is a law enforcement agency that practices medicine, to the point they can literally deny Americans evidence-based medicines from patients’ own doctors. Since it was conceived, the US drug scheduling system has never been based on evidence.
Ever wonder how to get rid of a mattress? Or how to find resources for a neighbor in need? Call 311.
311 is contacted 100,000 times every day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. No call is too small.
So on the anniversary of 311 (3/11), I decided to answer some of those calls myself.
It's more than that. Cybertruck was the first Musk Tesla. Cost a ton AND didn't sell. Grok, expensive and failing. He's raising costs and hurting development and hurting sales. Solar was the only growth. It's going to be so funny if his only successful decision at Tesla was bailing out his brother.
Lol, if they seize up Iran's oil exports, it will more than undermine removing the economic sanctions. Trump is desperate to make oil cheap again. If he wins, he loses.
Someone privileged throws a hissy fit about a perceived inconvenience in a place they only occasionally have to think about, and then they act all surprised and affronted when the people upon whom they've inflicted an existential crisis upon get upset.
I mean, joking about guns is problematic in the US. A guy actually went to the homes of legislators in Minnesota and shot them.
I'd say even more problematic is that they're oblivious to the fact that they are perpetuating a toxic Trumpian mentality...
19 year olds should be riding ebikes not hitting other kids with cars
A picture of a cat. It says, “4 years ago lived in a bush and hunted my own meals. Now I have 2 passive incomes, my own house, & a personal chef. Follow me for more financial advice.”
They're sending ICE to snatch their families as they bundle them off to die in the Middle East for TFG's senseless wars. Frankly, I don't understand why the military hasn't revolted.
Personally, I think drag queens reading books at the library is good. It's pretty sad that there weren't other people reading books in the library. I'm still not clear if they were objecting to drag queens or reading or libraries or educating children. All of the above?
