Or the people who have been released in random places and died before relatives could find them.

About the expression I'd expect for a newly-trapped kitty. Thank you for taking care of her.

Autism Speaks hates autistic people and wants us extinct. Don’t give them a penny, and don’t “light it up blue” in April.

Thank you. I can wait for the dead tree version; you're worth it.

Bother. My local go to bookstore's website shows one book for CE Murphy (Magic and Manners) and just the Dublin murder mysteries for Catie Murphy. The only Blood & Bone with the author name Murphy is Sloane Murphy. I'll have to search the others (or Kobo) before I go with Amazon.

The woman I grew up knowing as my Grandma had been the maid of honor at Grandpa's first wedding. My Grandmother died of a heart attack when I was about a month old, and eventually Grandpa and Grandma got together.

Velma's quote brings Jim Henson's _Labyrinth_ to mind because Hoggle tells Sarah, "It's a place you put people... to forget about them."

I'm sorry; that just sucks.

If I followed football and did not already live in the US, I would certainly not travel here for it. There is just no way ICE will not harass people attending. I hope for everyone's sake that it is moved.

This would not be the first time we've been haunted. Gail, our playful little girl, used to turn on the Christmas tree lights when we had a sensor that did so.

Recently I've been waking up and feeling as if there is a cat in bed with me, only to look and discover that there is not. It still feels like one is, though. My only option is to assume it's one of the friendly ghosts of kitties past -- possibly Thena, my first cat, or Heidi, our most recent loss.

Thanks to @danacorn.bsky.social's reskeet, I'm taking a chance on this for my cousin. If it helps her, I might well clean out your supply in the future. Thank you for making and offering it!

Until they pulled a bait and switch one time too many, I loved Credo. They (used to; it's been a while) run on T-Mobile's Network, and they donate a lot to really good causes. I'm actually surprised they don't carry Fairphones, given the overlap in values.

Sadly, they don't. They have NFC, but to use the tap and pay you'll need an app; they even mention Google Wallet. Of course there's nothing stopping users from adding Google Wallet unless you're looking for an alternative, but currently there is no native app for it.

It comes with a de-Goggled Android system, so it's fairly-made, modifiable, sustainable, user-repairable, and defaults to privacy-enhanced. If people want Google they can add the Google apps or switch to regular Android.

Murena Fairphone (Gen. 6)

For those in the US who have been wanting to get a Fairphone, they are finally available for us! They are sold through murena.com/america/shop..., and run on the T-Mobile network and its MNVOs. While they note that T-Mobile is recommended, they are very specific about it not working on Verizon.

On Friday, my new forest green Fairphone arrived. I'll be switching it over on Sunday, since I have two consecutive days off then. I'll be keeping my old phone number, but ditching most of the apps.

This is long, so I'll be putting info on how US friends can get one in a separate skeet.

to replace mine, that is what I wanted to get. My phone was losing battery life more quickly than it should have been, but not enough to warrant buying a new battery or phone. Since then the battery life has been growing shorter, and on Feb 1st he asked if I wanted to just go ahead and replace it.

be released in the US, & finally, last October, it was. My current cellphone still had some life left in it and I didn't want to ask @spacefolder.bsky.social to let me up and get a new phone when the old one was still functional, though I told him about the Fairphone and noted that when it was time

Around 2015 I learned of Fairphone, a smartphone with parts not only replaceable, but that the consumer can replace themselves. It was based on environmental and other progressive values, and I loved it. The catch? It was only available in Europe. I kept checking back to see if it had been/would
