I like both a lot for different reasons but Simpsons has been an important through line in my life. It's also made me laugh harder but Futurama has some wildly creative and emotional episodes. Simpsons I'd say has a more consistent emotional core where Futurama has spikes

season 12 killed our interest in watching more simpsons, rewatching futurama instead, accidentally skipped the movies so on season 6 now, good show I like it

update from season 11:
there's some serious stinkers in here (saddlesore galactica, little big mom, faith off) but I've also been surprised by some legit good jokes still finding their way in certain episodes. I'm still watching, despite michelle being kinda over it

one episode starts with marge cleaning out the attic, the family finding a pair of skis in a box, going skiing, marge getting a injured, lisa having to take care of the family, fooling homer & bart into thinking they have lepracy, bart & homer on molokai

but everyone remembers stupid sexy flanders

first time re-watching simpsons post-season 8 and the decline has been as follows:
- season 9: two or three stinkers, still a pretty good season
- season 10: two or three stinkers, handful of mediocre ones, still ok
- halfway season 11: getting into convoluted/farfetched/plain unfunny territory here
