A colour woodblock print of a view on to a snowy scene from inside the Kiyomizudera Temple.
#AshmoleanAdvent Day 10: Evening Snow at Kiyomizudera
This woodblock print shows a view from inside the Kiyomizudera Temple in Kyoto on a snowy evening by Kawase Hasui.
Snow falls steadily, forming drifts on the wooden balcony. Through the pillars, two figures can be seen looking out.

Beat winter blues #6. Even if you can't summon an outsize Dionysus, a spot of DIY or carpentry can be fun in company. You do need some hammers and someone to stand on the shed you're building and play the trumpet. Made in Athens, now in Berlin.

Going over their webpage, I now realise that the neck profile (EndurNeck) is a whole selling point! Although it looks visually strange, I can see how it could help. Anyways, happy to hear that you have an instrument which you feel at home with!

Fair enough, thanks for the reply! Perhaps those frets can also be more convenient because, especially when playing closer to the bridge, the hand naturally moves in the same direction as those frets as one reacher for higher strings...

Are you hiring on the Econ Job market seeking someone who does macro and applied experimental? Look no further than my @oxfordecondept.bsky.social student Alena Wabitsch. She works on expectation formation, mon policy, and labour. She has already published some papers and won awards.

Very honest question: do the slanted (?) frets make it easier or harder to play? I’ve seen them before in some guitars but never understood what difference they make…
